The Eastern Conference is a better and more competitive conference than the Western Conference.

the only thing, if we deal Lopez now, we'd have Dan Gadzuric and Johan Petro as our centers...ew

Congrats to New Jersey. Utah got an alright deal but I would've expected them to get more for Deron.. I didn't expect him to get traded at all.
Hopefully the Pistons can work something up.

Dwight and Deron would be sexy to watch.

Hey! Stop this right now! You're ruining my Double D LA 12 movement!
/lakers homer.
This is a huge gamble by NYJ. I like the fact that Prokhorov showed he's got balls, and that Melo wasn't holding them hostage like some thought he was. Still, if he doesn't resign, this could potentially set them back for years. One less tradeable asset and no lottery pick.
Still, if it works out, it's a fantastic move for the Nets.
Edit: Melo holding the Nets hostage, not Prokhorov's balls.

I mean if you want to ship a guy like Deron off, don't you at least leak it to the press for 24 hours, try and get some offers in? I know Cuban probably would of overpaid had he known he was available, Deron is from Dallas(not like that matters because he's just really good). Still I can only imagine teams would start bidding with each other, and it's still pretty damn funny that they couldn't keep Sloan or Deron.

This is the kinda deal that a team like the Nets is gonna have to make to compete in the NBA today. Great move and risk by them

Wonder if the Nets could get in on Gerald Wallace...isn't he supposedly on the block? I'd guess after trading the pick and contracts they can't but that would be awesome, would definitely make Nets games a lot more appealing to go to.
EDIT:
If they had any shot at him they probably would've saved the Murphy contract I guess. Still would be cool.

Gerald Wallace would definately be AWESOME. I love him. I wonder if we discussed Murphy's contract for him. damn that would've been sweet

I'd rather live in Utah, surrounded my mormons, than live in Newark, where you have like a 60/40 chance to get shanked by and/or pissed on by some random hobo in any given week.

A buddy of mine is at USU for football, too. He hasn't left, but he rags on Mormons every time I talk to him(no offense, jballa.) I think though we can edit the last sentence of your first paragraph.
He said being a person in Utah was the most horrible experience of his life.

So now the Jazz have both Paul Millsap and Derrick Favors at PF. I guess that's a good predicament to have.

Just a random thought but in 2012 if they dont extend guys like Jeff Green, Maynor, etc, the Thunder depending on the new CBA rules would have enough money to add a max player. Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and Dwight Howard IMO is the best trio of players in terms of natural fit with each other. That would be crazy
