I think I want to rank him higher than I did, but it just seems that he wasnt this high on anyones list UNTIL these playoffs.

I think it's mostly because he has stayed out of the spotlight while LBJ, Wade, and Bosh have taken the majority of it. He has quitely put up insane numbers like usual.

The guy has taken a MASSIVE stepback this season. It is obviously apparent from watching him.

So because he won two awards he didn't deserve that makes him a better player?

He didnt deserve them why? Because you said he didnt? The guy is still a top 5 player in the league lol.
The guy averaged 25 ppg 5 rpg and 4 apg
There arent a ton of guys in the league who do that. Has Kobe regressed? yes he sure has. But hes still an elite scorer and has the ability to be a lockdown defender, something a lot of scorers dont do.

Stick...did you miss when the Mavs swept the Lakers like two weeks ago. Dirk managed to pull of the sweep despite 4 of the best 5 players in the series being on the Lakers.

Wade averaged 25/6/4 while sharing the ball with the best player in the league. And he's not just a jumpshooter.
And Kobe very rarely guards the best player on the floor so I have a hard time calling him a lockdown defender anymore. Not saying he's a bad defender but I get sick of people talking up that part of his game while he's guarding the Trevor Arizas of the world. (Who he actually got torched by.)
Igoudala deserved 1st team all defense no doubt.

What the hell does it matter if Kobe was just a jump shooter? He should be that much easier to defend shouldnt he? Kobe can still get to the hole, and still gets to the line.
I said "he has the ability" to be a lockdown defender....so yeah. Im fully aware of who he guards most games.

Kobe IS NOT capable of being a lockdown defender of anyone anymore. Ask YFS or any other informed Lakers fan.
The lateral quickness isn't there, the ability to play both ways at a high level isn't there...Kobe is a shell of his former self. Living on veteran guile and smoke and mirrors.

Sasha Vujacic has the ability to average 20ppg but he doesn't for the better of the team.
NBA 1st team... just sayin'
With that sarcasm out of the way, I would of had Wade over Kobe on the 1st team
Ain't no shame on 2nd team.
Side note, I can't stand when he has a ****** night, they lose and he points and shits on the rest of the team lol
It's hilarious

Depends what you consider elite.
Who the **** cares what someones ability is....Anthony Randolph has the ability to be a top 20 player in the NBA....but he isn't...so who gives a ****.
He was a winner. Winners don't get swept by inferior teams and overall embarrrased.

So hes not an elite scorer in your opinion? There were what maybe 4 or 5 guys in the whole league who average 25+?
He locks down the other teams best player in the big parts of games? Why would we want him to do it the whole game when we have Artest?
So hes not a winner anymore even though he has 5 rings? cmon get that **** out of here. I would sure like to hear who you would call a winner in this league because if there is the definition of one it would be Kobe.

Because taking the ball to the hole opens up things for teammates, and makes you a threat even when your shot isn't falling.
And he went to the line 15 times in the entire Mavs series. That part of his game is on the way out. I remember in game three Hollinger said that out of the 50 FGA's Kobe had in the series up until that point two of them were inside 10 feet.

Im not trying to make excuses but I think that his health may have had some effect on that.

You have to take into account that he is was second in the league in FGA and shot a very meh 45%. Wouldn't call him elite at this poitn.
Because if he is such a good ******* defender then he would be doing it every game against everyone. Not to mention his defence has obviously declined.
We are talking about best players in the NBA right ******* now. So winning 3 championships like 8 years ago doesn't mean too much when judging a current player. Getting swept by an inferior team and shooting 6-24 in game 7 of the NBA finals does.

It's possible to an extent, he's clearly not the athlete he once was though.
