He doesn't block shots...

A true center plays with his back to the basket... his back to the basket ends up being face ups and tend to use their body and strength for positioning.

What I want from a center is an intimidating shot blocker and one that will muscle out on the low block.

Watch vintage Hakeem, Shaq, etc. clips and tell me D Cousins is a true center.

Why isn't Dirk a center, KG etc.?

Btw, Tyson chandler is a center but about 98 percent of his moves are put backs and alleyoops.

oh and roy hibbert is one on that list that i agree with and like a lot.

Okay, so to you, a Center has to be a shotblocker? That's ********. Not every C comes in a cookie cutter mold. He does everything else you want from a low post presence. His strength as a 19 yr old freshman coming out of school was his ability to finish at the rim and his low post moves. He's amazingly quick in the low block for a guy his size.

I love how when Lebron gets dunked on, he hides the tape and goes and cries in the corner, but then it's cool for him to dunk on a high schooler.

Way to get owned by several high schoolers by bricking a jump shot, and then almost killing a high school kid. Lebron, ever the classy fella.

What's also funny, as you can see from the second video, LeBron is knocked out of the game after destroying the kid.

Not to remain ultra-critical, LeBron, but you do know you can play a game with these youngsters with rules that demand that you shoot from outside the paint. I mean, if I could submit to those rules in high school, I think you can do the same after two NBA MVP awards.

Actually, he didn't get knocked out, when he dunked it, the kid's ball went out of the rim. If it would have gone down, he would have knocked out Lebron.

My bad, reading ftl. Didn't realize the article meant that later in the game is when he got knocked out. Yeah, that's why they call him Lebrick, those were some horrible misses.

I agree with everything you say here. Cousins may have the body of a Center, but his play makes you believe he would be most successful at PF. Idk how Hickson's defense is, but I hope it's atleast above average because we will get killed by teams with good low post players. Also I think Cousins attitude got better as the season went on, but there is still room for him to improve it as he matures.

That video is further proof that Lebron just can't finish. I think it's funny to see how competitive he was with a bunch of middle school kids.

I'm sure he wasn't trying to hurt anyone. Lebron, like most athletes (namely Shaq), are big kids.. I'm sure he was just playing around.

That was hilarious. But I can't determine whether the most hilarious part was him going all "no regard for human life" on a child, or him missing literally wide open jumpshots from the top of the key in a game of bump.

The season probably wont start on time anyway. But Oden still isnt expected to play until January. And who knows what Roy will look like. If they were all 100% healthy...yeah it's sexy. But they wont be. Portland makes a lot of good transactional moves, but they always get slowed by injuries.

Oden yeah even with healthy he'll be a good post defender with less shot blocking due to loss of explosion and he'll still be underdeveloped offesively for as long as he can stay healthy. Roy will never be the same, he just lost that extra boost, still though nothing stopping him from being a solid 16+4 type guy if he can stay healthy. What they really need to do is just permanently put him in a 6th man role and bump up Wes Matthews as starter. Batum's development definitely will be key. The biggest problem for the Blazers however is beyond Aldridge they have no big who can score.

Brandon Roy is now the Portland Trailblazers' version of Eric Chavez. He will always be coming back saying he feels better than he's ever felt and he'll get 5 games or so in and then he'll be out for 3-4 weeks which will turn into 2-3 months which will turn into the season. He's on a max contract, in his mid-20s and he'll probably offer a total of 10 good games for the remainder of his career.

And Oden? Really? The dude has had 2 microfracture surgeries and multiple other surgeries. He's 7 feet tall and probably 290 pounds, and he's had foot and knee problems. In 3 seasons, he's played enough games to make 1 full season. This dude is a $9 million lottery ticket. The odds are overwhelmingly against the possibility that he will be of use beyond wiping your butt, but there is an incredibly slim chance that he magically never deals with knee problems or foot problems again and he becomes an INCREDIBLE player.

My bets are on the Blazers to become a perennial bottom seed team until they can get rid of Roy's albatross contract (amnesty?) and move on from hoping Oden will ever provide any value.
