To be perfectly clear; I enjoy the sport of Basketball and what it potentially represents. I enjoy that the NBA is meant to be the highest professional level in the United States and most likely the world, the cream of the proverbial crop.
But based on what I have been reading lately in regards to how the lockout is supposedly going to be resolved, I really just want to see the whole structure get blown to smithereens. I want to see any hopes of a reconciliation get dashed no matter how foolish such a stance may be for the Players.
I have no problem whatsoever in being deprived of Basketball for an indeterminate amount of time if this comes to fruition. I had the same overall feeling during the NFL lockout too.
First is that there's a huge division between large and small market owners. The small market owner brigade is being led by Sarver and Gilbert. Sarver is a cheap bastard who gutted a team because he didnt want to go over the luxury tax, let Amare walk, and then made a bunch of stupid deals. Gilbert...does anybody even need to point out why he's against the current system?
Meh. I've gone in the opposite direction...college basketball has lost a lot of steam with me. I dont watch nearly as much as I used to. Not a big fan of every star leaving after one year. Just havent been into it the last few years. I def. see the NBA as a superior product.
I just want to see Blake Griffin progress. The only reason I would care about the NBA this year. But, I still wouldn't care if it were locked out. Donald Sterling has pretty much ruined the NBA for me.
