To be fair, Chandler wasn't healthy and the knicks where missing a lot of shots they usually don't. Kudos to philly and all, they're an excellent team and play great D, but Lou Williams was amazingly hot, the knicks where amazingly cold and the knicks still made a game of it. I still think Philly would be a very tough playoff matchup, but this game does nothing to make me think that the Knicks wouldn't win the matchup if they can get healthy and momentum going into the playoffs.

tyson put up 8 and 12...which is about normal Tyson numbers. I'm just saying, Philly stuck it to the Knicks in that 3rd quarter.

Don't use health as an excus and getting hot and being cold? Oh. The Nets are cold every game and our opponents are hot, but if it's the other way around, we're set for a playoff run. Come on, Philly was hot because the Knicks don't have perimeter defense and they were cold because Philly has a top 5 defense in the league.

I'm more concerned about the Knicks quitting on their coach than anything else. It's becoming clear the past 4 games that the team is completely tuning him out.

I hate D'Antoni as much as the next guy, but when your starting lineup is playing with no energy at all and not listening to a word your coach is saying, there's a problem. Something has to give, either D'Antoni has to go or we need to move Melo. They can't coexist.

Wait a minute so acquiring stars just for the sake that they are stars and ignoring potential on the court flaws was a bad idea? I am shocked to hear that.

I'm more concerned about Melo and Lin honestly. And the turnovers. Turnovers kill the Knicks and they're not doing a thing to fix it.

We lost today bc of turnovers and energy. The ball movement (when they weren't turning it over) was fine when they were actually giving a damn out there.

The body language of the team, lack of energy, and how they completely tune D'Antoni out is the biggest concern. They just look like a team that doesn't want to play for the guy.

You seem awfully confident in the playoffs for a team that is 18-23, has a mismatched coach, and a team full of guys that don't mesh. This isn't comparable to Miami, because that entire team is full of great defenders unlike the Knicks, who have maybe 2 good ones depending on whether Jared Jeffries is useful that week.

And to be fair, D'Antoni looks like he doesn't want to coach the team anymore either. A mutual divorce is probably the best thing for the team right now.

Ya it has nothing to do with Carmelo Anthony at all right? I mean after all he is the star player who is supposed to set the example right?

Or the fact that he played like dog **** the 2nd half when the Sixers started there run. No lets blame everybody else but him.

Lin playing like dogshit and Amar'e being invisible yet again doesn't help either.

You keep hinting that I'm not blaming Melo at all, when that's not the case at all. Melo is part of the problem, but he's not the only problem.

What I don't understand is why you refuse to put any blame on Lin. Lin is just as big of a culprit as Melo is. Lin has been awful for the past 5 games.

Yes, except you acted like the Sixers stood no chance vs. the Knicks in a 7 game series. It would probably be a really good series, and go 6 or 7 games, but you were acting like the Sixers would be lucky to take 1 game.

And someone on realgm posted the remaining schedules for NY, Milwaukee, and Cleveland prior to today. I don't think it will happen, but there's a legit possibility that the Knicks miss the playoffs if they don't get their ish together. Something like half their remaining games are vs. the top 8 teams, and Milwaukee and Cleveland both have easier schedules.

3. Shump, Chandler, and Jeffries.

I think at this point, if we do make the playoffs, we're locked into the 8 seed. Which means we play either the Bulls or Heat in the 1st round.

If we play the Heat, we'll get swept in embarrassing fashion. So if I had to choose, I'm hoping we play the Bulls over the Heat.

Lin playing like dogshit I again attribute to Melo. All he does is call for the ball causing for Lin to pick up his dribble way to early to try and force it into him on most possessions.

Amare is losing his legs no excuse there but his +/- was better then melo's this game.

I think we'd take the series in 6. Sorry, Philly just doesn't scare me, they're not built to win in the playoffs.

A team full of 2s and 3s along with a very good bench is solid and respectable for the regular season, but that kind of team isn't doing **** in the playoffs.

I know at this point it's probably a pipe dream, but can you imagine how much I'm gonna gloat if the Knicks do somehow miraculously beat the Bulls?

I'd come in here and take the biggest dump on this thread, they'd have to ban me from the forum.

I don't hide my Knick homerism. I still believe. I BELIEVE!!! <///3333

What I don't understand is why you refuse to put any blame on Lin. Lin is just as big of a culprit as Melo is. Lin has been awful for the past 5 games.
B/c I know Lin is going out there as a young player trying to make plays for the team to win. Ya he makes his mistakes I can live with his mistakes.

While your boy sits there jacks up stupid shots waste possessions, play's no d and complains all game that he doesn't shot enough.

Ya I rather gave slack to the young guy in his 2nd year then the star player who plays like crap then wonders why people can possible have a issue with him.

Amare is losing his legs no excuse there but his +/- was better then melo's this game.
Melo is a copout excuse for Lin. Melo isn't forcing him to throw passes into 3 defenders, Melo isn't the reason why he can't drive left, Melo isn't the reason why he's abysmal on defense, Melo isn't the reason why he has no consistent jumper, and Melo isn't the reason why he just drills his body into the core of the defense, stops, then tries an impossible fadeaway floater.

He's done this all before Melo got back on the court. The only difference is now teams know how to defend him, and those miracle shots aren't going down the way they did during that 5 game win streak.

Yes, teams with depth and top notch defense never succeed in the playoffs against a team with horrid chemistry, a coach that cannot even think of outsmarting the other, and pretty much less talent outside of one guy (Melo). Brand, who is 3.5 years older than Amar'e and with even more injury issues, looks more lively than him. Plus, he actually plays defense.

Teams are playing Melo one on one and Lin is getting doubled when he crosses half court.

For a player who loves to isolate explain why your boy is doing terrible in the one part of his game he gets his praise for?

Melo is disrupting the offense rather then lin letting plays develop or waiting for pick and rolls opportunity's he is picking up dribble and forcing to melo.

Who sits there and decides for about 10-12 seconds what to do then either A) forces a stupid shot B) Turns it over C) throws a stupid pass to someone forcing them to shot a desperation shot at the end of the shot clock

You want to take about Lin's jumper? What about mr. midrange who is bricking mid range jumpers left and right.
