Crushing way to end a promising season.
I am so bummed...this really sucks. I thought we had it.
And before BBD comes in and gloats.
Go **** yourself BBD...at least the Bulls have done something in the past 35 years.

I've never been a huge Melo fan, primarily because he only does one thing well: scoring. Which, don't get me wrong, that's huge in the NBA and he's one of the few players in the NBA who can put up consistently great scoring numbers (although he does it less efficiently than he should).
He's a solid rebounder as well but he's not a good passer, his defense is lackluster and he is wildly inconsistent on that end of the floor. Don't get me wrong, if we had the right pieces around him, that would be fine. Sadly we don't.
Amar'e is basically the same version of Melo. Can't do much else but score and block the occasionally shot/rebound, but he's not much of a defender either.
That's why I didn't want Tyson Chandler. He ties up too much money and this team needs a legit star who makes their teammate better. Ala, Chris Paul or Deron Williams.
Stat and Melo can both play off the ball well, its just when there's no one there to handle the ball consistently at the point guard position they will both dominate the ball and try to take mid-range shots instead of doing what their best at.
I don't understand why Melo doesn't post up more. Everyone knows he's great at it with his size and strength but instead he settles for stupid pull up 2's. It's rather annoying.

There's basically just two points you're making here, correct me if i'm wrong. One, you think he's a "lackluster" defender, and two, he doesn't attack on offense the way you'd like him to (post game).
In the defensive aspect, i disagree completely. I think he's an extremely good perimeter defender because he has size and quickness. Whenever he got in Lebron's face, he did NOTHING. He'd pivot fake a couple of times and then spot up for a long, contested jumper. There was a few stretches where he did this to him three, four times straight down the court. He rebounds really well, but again, the man can't do everything. He doesn't have the uber athletic body that some players do, so he wears out a lot faster. Very few players have the endurance to play 35 minutes a game and play hard 100% of the time on both ends. That's why you see him settle for jumpers occasionally, it's just his legs giving out on him.
As for the post game, he doesn't necessarily need to play with his back to the basket, if that's what you're alluding to. He does very well off the dribble, and is extremely quick and powerful, he's impossible to stop when he puts his head down. Again, the problem with all of this is that it is extremely physically draining. Playing in the post kills your legs, and playing tough perimeter defense does as well. There's a reason why there's defensive specialists that suck on offense, and offensive specialists that suck on defense. It's extremely rare when you can find someone that can do both ('Bron, Kobe.. who else?).

It's embarrassing to see what KG has turned into on offense. He got buttraped by Horford there.

Awful call not to give Atlanta two free throws on the Daniels call.

How was it not 2 free throws and ball??? BS The whole game was so skewed towards Boston but Boston and Miami is what the NBA wants.

You only get two free throws, you don't get the ball back.
