Well before nash became a laker I was advocating working a deal that involved sending pau and blake to the sixers and we get Iguodala and crap in return.
But now everyone keeps telling me how good a nash/gasol pick and roll is gonna be. So i guess i'll have to hold out hope.
Pau's salary is expensive and could've saved us 5 million and maybe even 19 mil if iggy didn't pick up his player option.
Next year Kobe's going to make 30 mil then we gotta offer Bynum max. that's a whole lot of money tied up in a big three that hasn't played to the best of their abilities together yet.
EDIT: plus paul milsap would be available next free agency.
I called that Mayo signing a few pages ago. It seemed like our next logical move, as we had done well with 1 year deals but we needed more youth and a guy we could potentially grow with. I was hoping we made that happen ever since the Deron signing didn't happen.
Our back court is much better though, and for what was available past the big names, Cuban has worked wonders(including the draft day trade). I think, though I need to double check this, we have left ourselves in a great position to pick up 1 max FA contract next off-season if need be.

Best bet would be to offer Collison a QO and target either Bynum or Howard.

The Bynum scenario sounds plausible but it seems unlikely LA lets him go without any compensation in their last years with Kobe. Seeing what the Mayo deal is now it's basically a one year, if he raises his stock while starting here for 1 season I don't see why he wouldn't opt out for a bigger deal. I was hoping to lock him up for at least 2 so that's less to worry about next year.
It's a quick fix and it's done us some good but long term I don't know what direction we are going to go in or who will be in it.

where'd you hear this? I've heard 3/24 so far as the starting price for him
