If rose is healthy. If deng is healthy. They also lost Nate off the bench. Bynum was over rated before the most recent injury and when he comes back he still won't be as good as bropez. Not playing for that long has a big impact. Bulls getting over rated. As is Bynum. The top teams behind the heat are the nets and pacers. Bulls and Knicks a tier below that

Nate is not good.

If KG holds up. If Joe Johnson doesn't still think he is a top 3 option. If D Will is actually good again. If Reggie Evans can make a layup. If J Kidd can coach. etc.

I have a new respect for bropez after last year but he's not as good as a healthy bynum scotty. Bynum has a MUCH bigger defensive/rebounding impact.

Bynum three years ago, yes. However, after being hurt and missing that much time, who knows what kind of player he'll be.

People are also sleeping on the nets depth. AK. Reggie. Blatche. Terry. Anderson. I'm just excited and will hold it off until the season.

The nets for me is not the players, but how well J kidd do on his first year of coaching. The players and depth is there, but even with all that talent and depth they're like lost sheep on the court without good coaching from Kidd.

Because of the impact Bynum could have. I don't think Kyrie is nearly as good as many others think he is, and their downright stupid drafting the last two years doesn't help matters.

Stepback? Starting 5 is back with a much improved bench.

i really don't get what you guys expect from kyrie at this point. Kobe wasn't a superstar at his age either. he's still shown more than 99 percent of players his age show. So he has areas to work on. So has literally everyone in his position.

The Cavs drafting has not been as bad as you think imo... Waiters was a bad pick imo but he can be a solid sixth man with some improvement.

I notice this a lot in this thread about a bunch of young players who get this treatment because they aren't perfect before they turn 25. Look how long Lebron has been in the league and he's just now rounding out having a post game and a consistent mid range game, he like a lot of these young players, just go off of ability and athleticism early on.

If anything the cavs have some nice assets if they do want to make a move for a star player somewhere, to team up with Kyrie.

Is your back-up point guard Pablo Prigoni. You are going to have times where Bargnani and Amare are on the floor at the same time. If Meta World Peace is in your crunch time five, Felton-Shumpert-Peace-Melo-Chandler, you have 3 guys who no one is that scared of, and 2 that you don't really need to cover.

I think the Knicks took a step to the side. All the Knicks fans forget how good Kidd was early in the season because of how terrible he was in the playoffs.

Shumpert will only get better, we have more big man depth now, we got another shooter in Hardaway Jr to stretch the defense, we'll have Martin for a full year, Chandler and Melo getting healthy makes us better by default, Pablo will get more minutes which should have happened sooner.

Everyone forgets that we played Indiana with Chandler having an injured neck, Melo a bad shoulder, and JR with a knee that needed surgery. And we still took it to 6 games. Those injuries killed our season.

If we stay healthy this year, there's no reason why we can't be just as good if not better than last year.

I'm making a prediction. I'm not going to apologize because it doesn't fit the cookie cutter.

They are a good team but the East got more difficult. Falling to the 6-seed wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. According to Vegas they are probably expected to slot in the 5-seed at this moment (Maybe 4).

Getting Granger back changes roles for everyone, their bench is still iffy, Hill still isn't a premier PG, Hibbert's always prone to injury, and George is thought of as a star and I don't know if he truly takes that leap this year - I guessed he wouldn't become a top scorer in 2014 during the playoffs. They still don't have a go-to scorer when **** gets tough. Hibbert also played at a ridiculously high level that we've never seen from him. If he plays that way for 60, let alone 82 games, then this prediction is sure to be wrong. But he won't because he's played that way for one stretch in his career and never for a full season.

And again, they aren't playing that cake schedule, the same sked that had the Knicks win 54 freaking games last year.

Hibberts prone to injury? He's injured as much as any other player, missing 40 games in 5 seasons hardly qualifies as injury prone. And what are you talking about Hibbert playing on a level we've never seen before? He had down season statistically from the season before.

The rest of your reasoning is pure assumption. It's hard to believe a team with one of the best starting 5s in the league along with an improved bench would somehow gets jumped by the Detroit ******* Pistons.

I don't think the Knicks got any worse than last season, but they will probably finish worse than last season. Right now on paper, the Heat, Pacers, Bulls, and probably the Nets will all be more improved and better. The Knicks are probably looking at the the 4/5 seed with an outside chance at the 3 seed.

Granted, that is all based on the preseason on paper, but assuming teams avoid major injuries, I don't see how the Knicks are any better than those 4 really.

EDIT: And not to say they are that much worse or can't finish ahead of them, they just aren't definitively better is what I'm saying. It's the Heat, and then basically the other 4 below.
