Move this to the NBA Draft thread, please. Not worthy of its own topic. Thanks.

Chris Bosh finished with 34 points and 16 rebounds last night. He really showed why he is the leader of this team. He played 45 min's and looked fresh the whole game. It's gonna be a tough without Bargnani but I think the Raps can get through it, they have enough depth to make due for 2-4 weeks. It will be extremely tough if Parker and Calderon don't come back soon, we can't expect to get that type of game from Bosh and even Ford night in, night out.

Can't forget to mention Ford: 16 points and 12 assists and like Bosh he basically played the whole game.

The Magic looked pretty bad last night. They were missing way too many open jumpshots. If they make their jumpshots, it opens up the inside alot more for Dwight Howard because the defense has to really press the outside players.

Well that sucks for the bucks. Even though they weren't exactly torching the world this season, I really believe Bogut and CV could be the most skilled low post duo in the NBA. Both are still very young, and they have great handles and passing ability for big men. They could be the next generation Divac and Webber, or the poormans version at least. I'm predicting next year if everyone is healthy(Redd, Simmon, Bogut and CV), you better look out for the Bucks.

My opinion on McRoberts is that he's a poor pro prospect. His skills and size do not match up to a real role on an NBA team. If my team is spending a first rounder, I'd expect them to get a real contributor with more upside than JR.

First Mock Draft of the NBA Season
3 Picks every day.

4) Milwaukee Bucks: Al Horford
Team Analysis:Strongly considered Yi Jianlian here because of his low post scoring ability something the Bucks need but with Charlie V being in a ways similar to Yi I gave them the tough rugged Power Forward who would really help them out. It is quite obvious that the Milwaukee Bucks will go Power Forward in the draft, who it will be depends. They are pretty set at Point Guard with versatile Mo Williams, and the surprisingly much improved the past few years Charlie Bell. Both however are combo guards and not pure point guards so a passing Point Guard to spread the wealth around to the scorers could be a need but the best PG prospect combo guard in his own right Acie Law wouldn't solve the solution and would just create a logjam of combo guards. At the 2 guard we know they are set and they are also have immense depth at SF with Villanueva, Illyasova, and if he ever gets healthy my man Bobby Simmons, at Center they have Bogut, Gadzuric, and Skinner so Power Forward is an obvious need as Charlie V is better suited with his skill set as a 3. Injuries has killed them this year but with the roster they have if fully healthy they can return to the 4th/5th best team in the East next year.
Player Analysis:Overshadowed the most of his career by Joakim Noah while most scouts tuned in to watch Noah they might have been surprised to see Horford was a much better prospect than Noah. Horford is a natural Power Forward with average height but an impressive wingspan than lets him block shots aplenty. He has good strength and nice footwork and nifty shot making in the low post and has Udonis Haslem type potential in terms of consistency of hitting down the mid range jumper. On the negatives side he could add 5 pounds of muscle but doesn't need much and also he needs to develop more of a killer instinct and has to understand sometimes you have to force the game in key situations rather than waiting for it to come to you, otherwise very solid prospect although his ceiling isn't to high.
Rookie Year Projections:11.4 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.2 bpg.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ekIz3I93lI

5) Philadelphia 76ers: Jeff Green
Team Analysis:Pick may surprise some people but with Horford and Brandan Wright gone Green is the next best player and IMO my 3rd best prospect in the draft. The 76ers have an obvious need at PF and while Green is more suited at the 3 he plays the 4 in college and is very capable of helping out inside in the NBA as he has great strength and rebounding. The 76ers are set at point guard with Andre Miller and at the 2 guard they have Iggy and Carney and Iggy can play the 3 so Green just makes the most sense for a franchise trying to get back on its feet and return to glory. Losing Allen Iverson the face of their franchise was tough but they got the most they could get out of him in return and with multiple 1st rounders Green is exactly the guy you want to build your franchise around as he will allow the new AI to be more aggressive offensively.
Player Analysis: Jeff Green is the best all around prospect in the entire draft and with the Big East tournament the first 2 rounds in the NCAA's in which he has had 30 point games, game winning shots, and winning Big East player of the year, and conference tournament MVP, he has really placed himself as a top 8 pick in the draft and any team that drafts him will be extremely lucky. What he does won't always show up on the statsheet but his importance to a team is impeccable. First off he has an NBA ready body at 6-8" 235 he is ready to step in for a playoff team right now. The first thing you will notice about him is his control of the game and his ability to make every player around him better. As John Thompson III has said Green is the smartest player he has ever coached and Green is like a coach on the court. He has extraordinary ballhandling and passing skills and can run the point from the top of the key in a half court set, he also is the perfect facilitator as Georgetown runs the offense through him as he can see the entire court while posting up. His shooting is so improved as he has great midrange game, true NBA 3 point range, and is explosive driving at and finishing at the hoop. He is great with his back to the basket as he has developed a reliable and consistent hook shot. His stats aren't the greatest at 15 ppg but with Georgetown's Princeton offense which is so controlled and cuts possessions in half add to that his role as a passer you can understand why his numbers aren't huge, and while he is always in control he showed in the Big East Championship with his 30 point performance that he is capable of handling the scoring load. As great as he is on offense some argue that he is even better on defense, Green for sure is one of the best defenders in the nation and I was so angry when Texas loss as Green is the one guy who could probably shut Kevin Durant cold. Green has the quickness to play man and he has long arms and reads passing lanes well. He most importantly understands how to play defense and how to cheat with your hands without being checked. In addition he is a great rebounder and monster shot blocker with 5 4+ block games one which included a 10 block game earlier in the year. Jeff Green is a great personality and calm and melo individual who while not a sexy pick like Greg Oden or Kevin Durant he could have just as big as an impact and expect whatever team he is put on to become a playoff and championship contender. Expect him along with Durant to be the early ROY candidates.
Rookie Year Projections:12.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.2 spg, 2.1 bpg.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8f1XLL2ILk

6) Phoenix Suns:Yi Jianlian
Team Analysis:Oh how the rich get richer. It is ridiculous how a team this good is allowed to get a pick this high. I almost gave them Julian Wright as he is another explosive player to add to their run and gun style but in the long run I figured Yi as the better pick for the the greater good of Kind Amare, we all know D'Antoni likes the foreign guys anyways. Yi is an extremely athletic bigman and smoothest big man in the draft behind Durant and a frontline of him and Amare with the suns would be scary. Yi is super athletic for a 7 footer would get them rebounds low post scoring, the ability to draw bigmen out with his great range, and he can finish it like few others at his size, whatever pick the Suns make here it will only add to their championship run but a point guard should also be considered here as you want to groom someone so the drop off isn't too great when Nash retires and while I do like Barbosa and even Marcus Banks I don't think either is the solution at point guard but there is no PG prospect here that I like enough for the suns to reach, they have 2 more 1st rounders after this in which they can fill those needs.
Player Analysis: Yi Jianlian is the real deal and should develop into a very good pro depending on his ability to gain some muscle mass. He has unreal athleticism and foot speed for a 7 footer as he has the ability to finish in style. He is a great ball handler and can hit the outside shot, on a team like the Suns he would really thrive running the floor and hitting open shots. Watching the World Championships this past summer as well as the past 2 years CBA finals what has impressed me most about Yi especially against foreign competition including the United States is his physicality. He may look weak in stature but he uses his body well and rebounds and isn't knocked around, the first legit Chinese prospect since Yao Ming, don't worry he isn't trash like Wang Zhi Zhi or Mink Bateer. If he really is only 19 as listed that is a huge plus but if he is like some reports are saying 22-25 he is still an great great prospect and any other year would be a top 3 pick and probably #1.
Rookie Year Projections:10.8 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 2.3 bpg.

Ghetto, what do you think Yi's age actually is, and why would his being somewhere between 22 and 25 not affect his draft status much? I don't know much about him, but have been intrigued for quite awhile.

Just saying he shouldn't drop out of the lottery and honestly I know nothing about his real age. His birth certificates and everything say he is 19 years old but many insiders in China says he had his birth certificates changed when he was 15 to further improve his hype not sure what to think but we will probably never know so I'll just assume he is 19 and be happy with that.

wow Yao is absolutely dominating the pistons right now. right now he has 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting. Sheed, Mcdeyss, and Webber all have 3 fouls. not to mention that there is still 9:21 left in the 3rd quarter.

and oh, Yao has only played 15 min so far.

Wow... I don't know how to put that game into words. That was the luckiest game ever for the Bulls. Nuggets completely beat themselves in this one, no way should the Bulls have won it. *sigh*... 3 or 4 more games of this road trip to go... I hope this fires up the team instead of discouraging them.

I only got to watch the end of the game, so I wouldn't know. With our recent struggles, we were due some luck tonight though.

Well I give props t othe Bulls for taking advantage of their luck. Nuggets got the bad bounces of rebounds (Bulls had a lotta second chance points). Also there are three vivid occasions where the Nuggets had the loose ball but it slipped out of their hands for the Bulls to put it back in at critical moments. Nuggets needed this one though. This road trip was brutal. Might as well lose by 50 if you're gonna lose a heartbreaker on the road.

Btw, on the whole Hinrich and Gordon debate that goes on here... I think they're both terrific players. Watching them today, Hinrich was great quarters 1-3, while Gordon dominated in the 4th.

Holy crap! Boris Diaw is actually alive. I think that coming off of the bench has helped him.

I bet Kobe goes for 80 again this year... Or, atleast a 75 point game.

i was thinking about the draft, if Oden comes out and the Bucks or Bobcats get the first pick who do they draft? Cuz they both have young Centers (Bogut, Okafor) so do they give up on them and trade them away or do they trade the pick away?
