It is 173 by the Celtics (1959) and Suns (1990).

you're kidding right? with the "defense" played today (more like lack there of), I would bet that the record might be broken like 5 times a season

It's more that back in the day you could get away with a lot more on defense, if sure guys today are a lot more technical than those of the past

well, just that less teams overall play that great of defense or defense at all, there may be 1 or 2 above average defenders on a team but that's really it, combined with individual players being better offensively and more athletic in general, I would think it's far more likely for the record to be broken now than in the past

That block was amazing.
By the way, just another day at the office for LeBron, 33, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.
Holy ****, Denver has 165. AI, Martin and Carmelo over 20, Camby, Klieza, Smith, Atkins, Diawara in double digits. Seriously, 8 players in double digits? Nice. The Sonics suck.

i know you're trying to be sarcastic but this isn't the pac-10, big 10 vs. SEC argument, the east is no question horrible. if you can make the playoffs having a sub .500 record you know your conference is bad. pistons and celtics are damn strong though.

look what happens when kapono gets some playing time?
he goes 12-19 26 points, and you'd think the majority of his points were threes but he was only 2-6 from three point land.

Magic still getting no love...grrr. They held their own against both of them this year. They're the only team in the league to beat both of them twice. I dont understand why the Pistons, Celtics, and even the Cavs are considered the only real threats to win the East. The Magic are only on pace to win about 55 games w/ their remaining schedule. It's crazy that they arent getting that much respect around the league or among NBA fans.

Are we comparing an individuals performance against a teams performance?
I am confused.

Marcus Camby had 10 assists in that game, along w/ 13 points and 15 boards. Beastly night.

It's because we have no Point Guard. Period. You get one of those and you have yourself a REAL team. Magic are fakes.

The reason why no one respects the Magic is because if they were to some how make it out of the east they wouldn't stand a chance against any western playoff team, against the teams currently in the playoffs in the western conference they are 5-13 add in the fact that the team has little to no playoff experience and that's where the lack of respect comes from.
I personally don't see the Cavs as a threat either(6-11 against the western playoff teams)
Celtics 8-4
Pistons 11-5
Raptors 4-11
Wizards 4-13
76ers 5-11
Nets 4-12
Hawks 6-12
Bulls 3-13

We've been getting great play out of the PG position over the last couple of weeks. Jameer may not be a top tier PG but, when healthy he is solid. You do not need an all-star PG to win, you just need consistant play there...and when Jameer is healthy, he gives that to you...and Arroyo and Dooling have both played superb basketball off of the bench. Jameer has actually been called upon to do less w/ the emergence of Hedo as a distributor. The last two months, he's been averaging about 6-6.5 assists per game and playing more point. Jameer is playing his role and lately he has been great at it...he's even started to become more involved in the offense, a sign that he is finally healthy again.
This team can hang w/ anyone. We may have the best frontcourt trio in basketball w/ a solid bench. Dwight has developed into the best Center in the league, Hedo has been Lebron James lite at times this season and is becoming a legitimate star, and Rashard has been lights out from three and has really stepped up his game since the all-star break. They've shown that they can beat the best teams in the East...I think they are deserving of a little more respect. People are writing them off because, they are young and inexperienced but, that really doesnt seem that wise, imo.

"Hedo has been Lebron James lite at times this season"
Okay, let's stop with the hyperbole right there.

lol...oh it's true.
He means so much to the team and averaging 21 points, 6 assists, and 6 boards per game for the month is LBJ lite, imo. In no way do I think Hedo's ability is even close to Lebron's but, he is putting up solid numbers night in and night out in the three big statistical categories, like that of a Lebron.

Lebron is a guy who can destroy people inside... Hedo is more of a shooter. You can't look at stats and saying "He is a light version".
