Yea, but you are also assuming that the 5-8 teams will all stumble. As of right now, I don't think the Knickerbockers will be any higher than the 7th seed, if at all.

It's a tough situation for us. He's a pretty important part of the team and we'd miss his playmaking ability. Do we really want to screw with the team while we are playing so well? Is it worth the risk of losing him in the offseason?
I think we should pull the trigger if a good deal is there. I'm confident enough with Pietrus starting at SF and Lee at SG, with Bogans and Redick backing them up. Then we got whatever we get back for some more depth and hopefully a pick this year. Either that, or we trade him for a PF so we can move Lew back to SF.
I can't really think of any deal that'd work for him though. It's not really an ideal time to trade him either with his numbers down this season after an all-star caliber year last year.
Game on now. Prediction for fun - Magic 117 Mavs 103, Lewis leads with 27, Dwight with 24/14, Meer with 16/7

With the way the teams been playing and growing I do see us being able to make up the 4-5 games that separate us from a Miami.

Fair enough. But if Miami gets Bosh your theory is shot.
Also, Derrick Rose is going to rape all in the PG skills comp.

Not on the 3 point shot. My pick is Devin Harris with maybe Tony Parker. I think Jameer will come in last, he won't be quick enough for the other 3.

No, Rose will do his running tear drop floater and nail the 3. I've already seen him do it from around 18 feet. Either that, or he will jump from the 3 point line and lay it in.

It doesnt matter...top seeded teams dont just trade away valuable pieces like that and mess with team chemistry. I'd say there is no chance he gets dealt, given our record. If the Magic make any moves...it will be minor and more than likely for another SF/PF type. This deal would more than likely consist of a Redick, Bogans, or Cook though, not Turkoglu.
What we're going to see a lot more of is Hedo being the 1st sub out for Air France. This enables SVG to have Hedo on the floor a lot more w/ Johnson, playing the point forward position more frequently. Hedo is just far too valuable to the team to move him and again, considering where this team currently is, the chances of a Hedo trade are very doubtful.

Dwight is off to a helluva start early and he's doing it w/ hook shots and the back board instead of dunks. hmm. Also 5-5 from the line.
19 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 1 block
Early in the 2nd. oh yes. :)
edit...well he went a little cold. But anyway, Jameer just left the game w/ a dislocated shoulder.

Kobe was on point tonight. One of those games that remind everyone that while LeBron is great Kobe's Still Kobe.

Kobe with the MSG record now. I expect to see more of this from him in the next 2-3 months while Bynum is out.

That was one of the worst games the Magic have had in years. So cold from three it was just awful to watch. They were all cold, so many missed wide open threes...Lewis was especially bad. blah...and now Nelson is hurt again, who knows when he'll be back.

Damnit. Nelson hurt again.... Further emphasizing our need for quality depth. Hopefully AJ is up to snuff.

I wonder if anyone on this forum believes the Magic will pony up enough cash and go over the cap to re-sign Turkoglu...?
I know he's a huge HUGE part of the team... but look at the situation at hand? I love the guy... don't get me wrong. But a GM's gotta do what a GM's gotta do.
...not to mention his stock must be as high now as it will ever be.

That sucks that Bynum's hurt again. He was putting together another good season and was their force defensively.
BTW, do the Lakers want Drew Gooden? I think the Bulls are doing better without him and the Lakers could use a bench player.

It just wont happen...if we lose him for nothing, we lose him for nothing. It happens. Again, given the team's record...a Hedo trade isnt even in Smith's thoughts.

AJ definitely is not up to snuff. He looked tired after getting an extended playing period and SVG went with a Lee/Turk rotation for the final 9 minutes of the game.
Definitely a game we should have won. Even with have our worst 3 pt shooting night in over 2 years and losing Jameer we still held on until the end.
Fortunately we have some easy games leading up to the all star break against the clippers and pacers, hopefully he is back soon -- although he hasn't been the quickest healer in the past.
This is the time when we need to trade bogans or reddick for a back up PG -- Hell, trade bogans and aj for a legit backup pg.

Honestly, if we can trade Turkoglu for some young talent and improve our depth, I'd do it.
But that's why I'm not GM.
Unrelatedly, I'm hitting the sauce over Jameer.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's true. He probably doesn't even realize Hedo has a Player Option. He probably thinks the ball is in the Magic's court. LOL.
As much as Hedo is relied on, he's not indispensable. Not by any means.
Courtney Lee won't reach his potential until Turkoglu is gone.
