Default Will Parcells raid Dallas roster next?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors;_...MvN110N1sLubYF

Bill Parcells started with the Dallas Cowboys' front office, wooing personnel executives Jeff Ireland and Brian Gaine to the Miami Dolphins. Then he took what he wanted from the coaching staff, hiring Tony Sparano as the Dolphins' head coach and Todd Bowles, Paul Pasqualoni and Kacy Rodgers as assistants.

Now, it's on to the roster according to the Dallas Morning News. The Tuna's efforts to trick Jerry into trading Marion Barber have been well chronicled. Don't be surprised if the Dolphins go after a couple more Cowboys' Pro Bowlers during free agency.

Miami is in the market for a free safety. Ken Hamlin wants a big contract after playing for the relative bargain price of $2 million and change last season. Hamlin also has a ton of respect for Bowles. LT Flozell Adams is a Sparano guy, so it wouldn't be stunning if he decided to rejoin his O-line coach in Miami.

I think Bill will. Its easy for him to just take what he built in dallas and move it over to the fins. The man knows what he is doing and he will take what ever he can from Jerry Jones...

It would be great, but its easier said than done. We'll see what happens. I don't get the Hamlin connection. Hamlin wasn't part of the Cowboys under BP.

Losing Flozell, Hamlin, and Barber would be big blows for Dallas. But I don't see any of that happening. I think this is just speculation created by the media.

What connection does Bill Parcells have to Ken Hamlin? Wasn't this his first year in Dallas?

Barber and Brown would be a dangerous duo. The Jets desperately need to upgrade on D if that ever came close to happening.

Hamlin and maybe Julius Jones (Parcells' boy at RB) would be good fits in Miami, but Julius wants a starting job. He probably won't get one, but a backup to Ronnie Brown who is coming off a bad knee injury would be a good fit.

LOL @ Julius being "Parcells' boy". JJ was the one claiming that his career was going to take off now that he didn't have Parcells there to make him "run like a robot".

Bill is gonna go after Shaun Rogers. I think Miami is a likely destination for Rogers if he is dealt.

If Tom Brady throws 7 TD's Sunday, look for Steve Young to comeback for Miami in 08.

Will I scratch my ass today? Will I take a crap? Will I fart and drive myself from the room with the smell? Will my sister say something that will make me slap myself on the forehead?

If you answered yes to all of the above, then that's my answer for if the Tuna will raid the 'Boys roster.

If the Barbarian went to Miami he'd have a great complimentary back finally.

Brown will add 4-5 years to Marion's career.

Bill will take everyone that his is able to. I think we all know by now that his MO is to surround himself with people that he is familiar and comfortable with.

He surely would be interested in Barber, Romo, Witten, Ware et al, but getting them is a different story.

What I look for is a trade that might blow some people's minds in regard to the value given to acquire a particular player. For example, I'm pretty sure people would flip their lids if they saw "Miami trades 2nd round pick to Dallas for T Pat McQuistan" scrolling across the bottom line on ESPN, but it certainly wouldn't shock me.

I expect to see some smaller moves along the lines of a bit player or two changing sides in return for a modest draft pick, as well as maybe one big deal where Miami raids the Dallas bench and gives up a substantial amount of value in return. I can see Bill giving up some serious stuff to acquire any of the following "unkowns":

1. Pat McQuistan, OT
This guy was an immediate hit with the Tuna when he came in as a 7th rounder from Weber State. Big, rangy, and tough like old oak roots--yet suprising nimble of foot, he perfectly fits the profile of what BP looks for in his OL. To this day, I have never heard Bill rave about a player like he did about "this McQuistan". He needs some seasoning, but I feel like he could be an upper tier starter at OT in the league for a long time.

2. Jason Hatcher, DE
Hatcher was one of those blind-side picks for us Cowboy fans. You know the type: you're sitting there on draft day with your lists spread over the coffee table, sure that you have nailed it down to 3 or 4 possible guys that you are SURE your team would be crazy to pass up, the pick comes across the bottom of the screen....."WHO THE **** IS THAT!?!?!"

Yeah. But we later found out that he is big. He is strong. And he is fast. That is a rare combo, and the guy has put together some good showings in the two years since. At times, he has seemed primed to seize a hold of the starting spot, but one thing or another has held him back to this point. Could definitely be a big time breakout guy for 08, and someone that Bill was always clearly fond of.

3. Bobby Carpenter/Marcus Spears, LB/DL

As big time prospects and eventual first round picks, most people on this site already know about these two. Spears has never been able to put his excellent measurables to use on game day, and Carpenter has gotten caught up in position and scheme switches galor in his two years here. Both are Parcells' picks, and both don't seem to be part of the core group of guys that Dallas is building, which makes them obvious targets for a trade. Too obvious, though, and I doubt anything happens with either one.

4. Anthony Fasano, TE

Now this guy is an entirely different story. He seems like a prime prospect for a trade, because he is clearly worthy of a bigger role, and yet the opportunity will almost certainly never be there for him. I could see him playing at a PB level a year or two down the line for a different team, and he fits every possible mold you could name in relation to what BP looks for in a player. Very real chance here.

5. Roy Williams, S

This might surprise some, but Bill was always very clear in how highly he regarded Roy Williams as a playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. He never criticised him and supported him through the years of mud flinging that Roy went through. As Miami is deathly weak in the secondary, and Roy is getting paid twice what he's worth, I could see something happening here, with the deal opening up the opportunity for Dallas to re-sign Hamlin to a multi year extension.

These are the best possible options for a trade. Obviously, Flozell will garner some attention from Bill, but Dallas has the option of franchising him, don't forget. That might lead to a trade as well.

Terry Glenn would likely be of interest, if he had two functional knees. Sadly, that is not the case. Contrary to an earlier assertion, he is not a free agent, either.

All in all, there are any number of players that Bill will be interested in acquiring. The 5 I just named are, imo, the best bets. But who really knows?
