Its not bad at all, I would have just preferred a more orange and blue color scheme similar to the Knicks.

Make it look like the MLB logo with blue on the right half and red on the right, then in white font at the bottom have it say "MLSB". As usuall I will give you rep. Thank you very much man

hope you dont mind i went white fill layers where you had black.
and i added round corners and a drop shadow to try and get the actual mlb logo. the player i used was cole hamels.

I would suggest trying to put the blue-red divide where at a place in which the silhouette would cover up the entire divide and have the silhouette reach the top. That way it just seems natural for the transition. Like they do here:

Nah, what i'm saying is just bring the height of the background down to meet the height of the pitchers head and then move where the red and blue meet to be behind the pitcher so that line is hidden.
