Well, this was the shoe that I was waiting on. Sure does give the indication that LB, whether inside or outside, will be a high consideration. Prior to this, they had their LB's set up basically, outside of one spot. After this, there's definitely an opening, or two.

It appears that way. It saves roughly 8 million in cap space though, which probably allows us to sign moss easier. Could be either ILB or OLD as thomas has the capability, and BB has the willingness, to move him to inside and have vrabel + whoever on the outside.

They cut ILB oscar lua (7th rd draft pick last year) also.

This was expected all along. He's been... OK. But he's too injury prone. We'll see what happens.

When healthy he was my favorite player on our defense. I hope Gholston is available, Chris Long would be nice too. I wouldn't mind us taking Harvey at #7 but it probably won't happen.

Eugene Wilson is gone too from what I hear and Asante is asking for what may be too much money, as much as a 100 million dollar contract. We may be bringing Ty Law back and we hired Dom Capers as our secondary coach (which I like).

This move saves us whatever Colvin's base salary was. Either $5.5 millon or $4.5 million, I'm forgetting which.

Looks like Ghoston is more of a possibility now that Colvin is gone. I think OLB is our biggest need now.

I didn't realize how old Colvin was till now, i thought the patriots were dumb in doing this, thinking he was in his mid 20's but once i saw his digits, i thought they were smart.

30, the only reason i thought he was a good player were some plays and the fact that if he was younger, he had great potential. He's not really old, but expendable.

Oh right. Hes a good player. I think he was a little too injury prone. The Thomas signing last year and Colvin signing a while ago are very similar. I was just thinking they have a lot in common

I bet he'll reunite with Blache (former DC from Chicago) here in DC if he doesn't get a good offer from somebody else.

smh... I liked Rosey. I do agree he was too injury prone though.
You could see the difference he made on the game when he was out there

I agree, his presence was definitley missed in the latter part of the season and the playoffs, although thomas played very well outside himself. His loss during the season was more that he forced seau and bruschi to play every down rather than rotating.
