I understand, and thats why I listed a couple schools of the future. But take a school like Alabama. Andre Smith, top OL recruit 2 years ago. Julio Jones this year. Derrick Pope even though it was a Juco. UCLA this year has a couple 5* recruits, and have had guys like Ben Olson, Marcedes Lewis and that DT from several years ago. Both these school to me, have been "it" schools for wuite some time now.

I would have to say clemson; when they landed DaQuan Bowers i was very impressed. The thing that surprised is they were able to take a lot of players that were predicted to go to other schools like Jamie Harper and Antoine McClain, but didn't really have any players verbally commit to them and wind up with another team; this is of course, as considering there are too many players to keep track of so I have no idea if anyone did that to them.

I think if Maryland ever replaced Fridge with Locksley, they'd be huge. Ton of talent in that area, most of it gets away.

It's gonna be Bama. Also no offense Fl. St. fans but im continually suprised that they can keep bringing in the classes they have been. Especially offensively since 2003 they have had like 3 offensive players drafted in the first two rounds.

Illinois aside though, I think Clemson, Missouri, UNC, Oregon, and South Florida will become "IT" schools. They have everything perfect for them in those places. Great campuses, great women, rising programs, everything. Of the powers, I think ND, Alabama, FSU, Michigan, Miami, and maybe Nebraska will be back. All won't be back to their formers selves, but most of them will and at the least the ones that don't will be a factor in the MNC at least every 3 years or so.

Like I said, Bama has been rolling in recruits, even without Saban. Shula was getting great reruits to come to Tusc, so I wouldnt put them in there. But man Miami...Wow.

Please explain yourself. Miami had one of the best recruiting classes last year and has already snagged solid talent this year. I could go further but I don't see the need....Miami is one of the most desirable locations for recruits.

The thread is asking who are the NEXT "it" schools. Miami is not going to be an "it" school. Because they are an "it" school right now. Like you said yourself, they are getting top recruits year in and year out.

Under Coker we steadily declined on the field and in recruiting, but I guess you could say Shannon already made us an it school again. The same could be said about Saban and Alabama too.
In that case, I say North Carolina.
EDIT: And when the thread said "it school" with USC at the top, I figured it meant who is the next USC, the school that just picks through a crop of amazing talent and takes all the best prospects. We've already started doing that to an extent in SoFL. Maybe that will help you understand my point of view now that I know yours.

As the creator of this thread, allow me to clarify. I did mean, the next USC. The school that has the ability to hand pick talent from all over the country, that is the school that most of the top prospects would die to play for. Miami was that school for awhile, so was Oklahoma, now it seems to be USC (look at their backfield, no matter how loaded they are kids still want to come there). So, for the purposes of this thread, Miami, and Alabama are not "It" schools right now.

I really like what Croom is doing at Mississippi State, I don't know if they will ever be an "it" school but they should be very competitive in the SEC as long as he is there
Anthony Dixon is the best RB you probably haven't heard about, I think even Brian Leonard(aka Scottyboy) could appreciate his leap over Kareem Jackson

Penn State whenever Joe Pa leaves.
Michigan State
Alabama
Oregon
UCLA will be good shortly. They have every advantage that USC has with the exception of perhaps not quite as much football history.
Georgia.

Oregon
Illinois
Clemson
UNC (iffy on this one because I never think they'll win enough games, Butch is an awful gameday coach)
Here's a sleeper pick... Minnesota. New stadium, new uniforms, great recruiting class. If Brewster can start winning some actual games, they are going to ascend very quickly.

Tommy Bowden needs to learn how to coach before they become an it school, they have had superior talent in the ACC the last 2 years and still have not made it to the championship game.

I don't know if UGA is considered a "it" school. I know they get basically zero respect as a national power. But I think over the next 2-3 years they could make some serious noise. If we are looking at 5-10 years down the road at a school who is on the up and up, I would throw names like Illinois, Rutgers, and UCONN out there. I could see Illinois becoming a Big 10 power very soon with Zook at the helm. Rutgers has hit the national scene over the last two years, but we will see if Schiano can keep it going w/o Ray Rice. And UCONN has been getting better every year since they entered the league.

UCLA and 'Bama are coming around...most definitely. UCLA has a collegiate dream staff filled with recruiters and great coaches. Bama has Saban and that always bodes well in recruiting.
Miami is coming back quickly in recruiting...they now need to show that they are back to producing elite NFL players.

perhaps california, having made a couple of elite pro-prospects can't have done them any harm really. Notre dame had a great recruiting year but then again it kinda already is an it school.

I'd go with UCLA before Cal. Until Cal can start pulling in great recruiting classes on a more consistent basis it will be very difficult to give them such a label.

I got one: Colorado
They seem to be on a lot people's lists for recruiting and they've been average for a few seasons. I think that Darrell Scott going there is going to attract other players. Plus, that campus/state is awesome. I could see that in the next couple seasons they move up on recruits lists and start bringing in higher profile guys annually.
