Default Forum Mock

me and thefalconer worked together for the Forum Mock, here was our final draft.

1/12. Chris Williams OT/Vanderbilt
2/42. Pat Sims DT/Auburn
2/61. Earl Bennett WR/Vanderbilt
4/108. Owen Schmitt FB/West Virginia
4/125. Wesley Woodyard OLB/Kentucky
5/139. Durant Brooks P/Georgia Tech
5/148. Taylor Mehlhaff K/Wisconsin
6/167. Arman Shields WR/Richmond
6/176. Johnny Dingle DE/West Virginia
6/181. John Sullivan C/Notre Dame

We also acquired G Mark Setterstrom from the Rams.

And we traded away Elvis Dumervil for a 2nd round pick.

~

Pretty happy overall about the draft. Losing Dumervil was probably a mistake, but we have Moss Crowder Dingle to fill in for him. Addressed pretty much every need area in the draft. at least 6 starters in Williams Sims Bennett Schmitt and Brooks and Mehlhaff. I honestly can't remember a time when the Broncos honestly had so many holes.

Pretty good. Particularly the first four picks.

With regard to Owen Schmitt, if he's there with our first fourth rounder and we don't take him we gotta be crazy. For a team who's lack of toughness and creativity in the red zone (and especially inside the 5) was a big reason we weren't three or four games better, Schmitt represents nastiness and versatility that we could desperately use. He's a crushing lead blocker, is never tackled for a loss when he runs the ball, and a better than average receiver out of the backfield. I like Cecil Sapp, but he's not a true fullback and it shows in our offense.

Yeah, I know. I'm a broken record....... :)
