Default Panthers Breakdown

The panthers needs are in this order
DT
RB
F.S
OT
thats pretty much it. As theres not gonna be a DT worth taking in the first i say they go Jonathan Stewart in the first
Dre Moore in the 2nd- a kid that played for the dominant Independence high(charlotte high-school) that included chris leak and many more

after that its a crap shoot.

Forget Q.B (Delhommes underrated, hurt all last year and the previous year only had 1 reciever(steve smith) worth a damn, with keyshawn 1 year and muhammed the one before we went to the superbowl and then nfc championship with key...now were stacked with muhammed back, newly acquired hackett, and hopefully a dwayne jarret who knows the playbook

we dont need a LB since we have davis, beason,Landon Johnson..who we just signed from the Bengals

DE, Is not as pressing as some thing, we signed Tyler Brayton as insurance in case a couple of recent mid to late picks, Charles Johnson, and Stanley Mcclover dont pan out, but one will imo

OT, ummm no thanx, we have a great RT In Jordan Gross (hes only average on the left side) Travelle Wharton at LT (hes above average)we just signed 3 guards to compete for the LG spot, to take over for the departed Mike Whale, Ryan Kalil is taking over at center and RG will remain Jeremy Bridges
so the whole changing the line is a smokescreen, although we could use some depth at LT

RB, Deangelo Williams, is solid and with lots of upside, but hes not a goaline back/short yardage specialist...hence the need for Jonathan Stewart

DT...scares me a lil, right now outside of kemeoatu were in trouble, we have lil depth and could use a starter but i wouldnt reach for Balmer in the first,(see my Dre Moore pick in the 2nd)....i think we actually Draft 2 DTS in this draft

F.S. we signed torrence Holt, but jurys out on him, he played poorly in arizona, but that position requires help from the front 7, which he didnt have

I thought it was a lock that Travelle Wharton would be moved back to guard, which is why all of the focus the past few weeks has been on a left tackle. I still think Ryan Clady is the pick if he is still on the board in the first-round, safety in the second-round, defensive tackle and runningback in the third-round.

it's not a lock but it is definitely the most preferable option right now. the team has show strong interest in all of the 4 big OT's and i feel if one of them is available we'll take them. however i can see the team falling in love with mendenhall or stewart to bring back the stephen davis glory years and then keep wharton at LT and platoon the guard spots between those big uglys. personally i have OT and DT as our two biggest needs and then RB, DE and FS a tier below.

gonna be interesting to see what we do at the weekend!

It's increasingly looking like Wharton's going to be the LT (unless maybe Clady falls through to them). The signing of three huge-ish guards means they're not going to be running the ZBS. No ZBS, no real place for Wharton on the interior.
