Timmons is a reach and is overated by most. NFL personell will not give him a top 20 grade. Teams don't always draft for need. Any NFL GM will tell you going into a draft targeting a certain position in a certain round is a huge mistake. CB is also a need for the Giants, and Hall really is a steal there.

I really doubt that Harris makes it into the first round. Like the chargers pick though.

He had a great combine, and he's Mike Mayock's #4 LB. That's good enough for me.

Sometimes, different is good.

Not so much for the Jaguars.

The Jags have a great starter at center with Meester, and Dennis Norman--- a center on paper--- is a smart, super-talented O-line prospect who can play all 5 positions.

We're probably not going to draft center at all. It's not even on the radar.

I didn't realize Meester was that good of a center. I was just basing that off of a Steelers/Jags game preview that said the match up of Casey Hampton and Chris Meester was a huge advantage in the Steelers favor. Kalil climbed into the first round, I just gotta figure out to who.

No DE for the Bills, we just resigned our starter Chris Kelsay. Yes, Anderson would be an improvement, but we have four DE's now and a great DE is a luxury, not a need. I would prefer either Willis or Lynch, with Timmons, Beason, or a top possession WR also possible.

I'm all for Nelson in that situation and I don't think Beason helped his stock any with the combine.

I did forget all about the McGehee thing. I do know Marv Leavy went to 4 SB's with a pair of dominating DE's though.

No Ginn for the Rams, especially with Willis still on the board.

Man everyone keeps saying that about Beason. He didn't do terrible and actually had a really good 40 time. The combine is only a small piece of the puzzle. Ultimately game film separates the good players from the bad. If you have two player at the same position and you have them equal in all your game tape evaluations the combine then comes into play. It also is used to answer questions one might have about a player. Dick Vermeil said the main focus of teams at the combine are the medical evaluations and the interviews. Players can raise their stock at the combine much more than players can hurt it. Some players show they are much better athletes than expected and they help their stock. Positions like WR and CB are the two that 40 times really come into play. Beason ran a 4.64 40. He's a 237 pound OLB, that's damn good. His only knock was his 19 reps on the bench. Does that mean he will never get any stronger? Strength is alot easier to add than speed is.

My point being that he really hasn't had great value at 18 the whole time and he didn't improve that standing with his combine.

I'm not saying it's a horrible pick though... Just that it's hard to put that pick up there with Nelson on the board.

He didn't have great value here, keep that in mind. I think with actual NFL personel he's had great value all along. He neither helped nor hurt his stock IMO. Now I don't know what went on behind closed doors, the medical part and interview part.
