If this costs Boley even one minute of game time, I'll be irritated.
We can't know for certain what went on in that house. The wife was angry and being confrontational over the possible infedility. Sounds like Boley may have been intoxicated. There was a fight. He may have been the only one being physical or he may not. If she was in his face yelling at him, some pushing is going to occur. The "throwing" part may have been an embellishment from the angry wife. We don't know for sure. The article says she hid his car keys which probably made him mad too.
I'm not saying that Boley is innocent in all this but it's certainly not something the NFL or the Falcons need to get involved in.

It probably wasn't Boley's finest hour, but it doesn't sound like anything to get worked up about.
The biggest problem is that it will be a distraction for Boley and for the team as a whole going into minicamp. I can't see it seriously affecting Boley's career with us. (If worse details don't emerge, of course... touch wood).

I could care less what happened. The truth is he was my favorite player in the league, not only because of his play on the field, but because of his character as well. I did a report on this guy and his character. Now I see this, and it does not fly with me, no matter what the excuse.

He was your favorite player? He's still mine.

IDK. I wouldn't say I have a favorite player, more like a top group.
Good to know Deangelo and Bosanac condone throwing woman over couches and into walls, because she did not want him to drive drunk.

The police report will be based entirely upon what they have been told by Boley's wife. Evidently she is not entirely impartial at the moment. That's the first step in the judicial process. The next step will be Boley's story, which won't necessarily become public information as a police report is.
In short, don't jump to conclusions about what actually happened. A police report is not objective in any way.
That said, the whole situation is clearly not ideal. Hopefully Boley gets his head straight in time for mini and training camp.

We dont condone it. We just can see it happening when some in aggravated when drunk. And who knows if he even meant all that to happen. All we know that happened is that she fell over a couch and into a cabinet and had a bruise on her neck. Its not like he cut his arm because a TV fell on him.

As D-Rod said, that's the early story. If it's the right one, it's a shame, but I'm not going to disown Boley for it. I would however like to hear what Michael has to say.

I would too, but it seems unlikely we would know that info.

That will depend on whether Boley wishes to disclose it. A police report is a public document, but a defendant's response (at least, before trial in open court), is not. Therefore, whereas the AJC could apply for and obtain the police report, it will not necessarily be able to get hold of Boley's side of the story.

I don't think anyone is OK that he did this if it is truthful. However, it's a bump in the road, I'm not disowning him for it. And there is a big difference between "hitting" or "beating" and pushing.

No one is saying that domestic abuse is ok.
1. We don't know what he did; all we know is that his wife is pissed off at him.
2. Even on his wife's evidence, he is only accused of pushing her.
By the way, if you flick someone's ear, and they're inclined to bring charges, you could find yourself up on a battery charge as well. So there's no point in jumping to conclusions about what happened.

Just a question. If Boley releases a public statement admitting that he did forcefully push his wife causing physical harm, how would you feel about him?

I certainly wouldn't feel as strongly about his character.. however I doubt my thoughts on Michael Boley the football player would change.

Oh I definitely agree on the second part. Even if the reports are true, it still doesn't take away from the fact that he is an excellent player.

That's only kind of what I meant. I might not like Boley the person as much, but I'll still love Boley the player. It would be different if he really beat up his wife.

At least he didn't pull out a 9 and cap a guy from across the street downtown...
