Jimmy Williams, CB or S?
So I have been wondering about this...He is said to be good in man to man and thats what Zimmer likes playing, so he would be a good fit at CB, but his scouting reports make him out to be a top notch safety at the next level.
What position do you guys think he should play?

I am with DeAngelo Hall's opinion; SAFETY. That's how I have always felt. Whether Mike Zimmer agrees with me, or not, well I guess we will find out.

Jimmy has the athletism to play either, without question. And honestly, I would move him around based on needs. If we get Bly we can blug him in at FS, if we get a Landry or Nelson we can plug him in at corner.

I hope we move him to FS and draft someone in the later rounds at SS to develop into a future starter. Learning from Lawyer Milloy would surely help that situation.

If Jimmy Williams is moved to FS; I want Chris Houston. He is the PERFECT fit for Zimmer's press man coverage.

Yeah. Thats one of the reasons I made this thread. I really like Chris Houston's combine numbers and would really like to draft him.
I bet we could move J-Will to safety and then trade down to like 14-15 and then draft Houston, while accumulating more picks.

The question is if you move JW to safety then what do you do with Chris Crocker...Before Crocker came to Atlanta he had pretty good numbers at the SS spot.......I say keep Jimmy at CB and based on how he perform

So you expect to start Crocker once again at FS? He might have had decent numbers at SS, but all he is is a back up SS right now. He might learn well from Milloy.

Crocker is going to be a SS. So, he allows us for great depth. I also think that if we drafted Houston in the first round it would be a mistake. If someone else gambles on him, that's fine, but if he's there in the 2nd that's when I'd take him.

With his combine numbers he won't be in the 2nd.

Trust me the last place that I want to see Crocker play is FS....Im all for moving him to SS behind Milloy....This draft is thick with Safeties....If we dont draft Landry at 10 I say we should consider Brandon Meriweather who stock is rising so we would luck up if we get him in the 2nd or Eric Weddle.

Even though Landry is considered the best Safety in this years draft which I do agree with...Reggie Nelson is the best FS in this years draft...I dont know if he would fall to the 2nd round though..I really doubt that.

i don't know where this idea comes from that landry cannot play FS deep cvoerage. that is what he did all day long at LSU the psat couple of years. he's not quite got the ball skills of nelson, but his organisation and leadership of the D more than makes up for that.

I dunno, I like Reggie as a ball hawk still...but if LaRon plays like he did when he was a Frosh and Sophomore then I'd take him no doubt. The thing that I REALLY want to see happen is us draft not only LaRon but Aaron Rouse as well. I want Aaron Rouse in the 4th round if he's there. Safetys always slip though, that's what I don't get...how bout a draft that looked like this? Getting Steinbach in FA.
1.) LaRon Landry
2.) Tony Ugoh
3.) Alma-Francis
4.) Aaron Rouse
4b.) Brandon Frye
