Trust me your not, if he hit the open marking he would be in high demand, I'm pretty sure of it.

Considering he was really a pro bowler with Woodson at his side, and since he left its like he lost all his skills, so maybe Woodson can mentor him or something, because that was probably the last time we saw him playing at a high level.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Jags cut Jones, they go three strong in starting receiver nows (Porter, Williams, Northcutt) and have young talent guys being developed (Mike Walker especially).

Credit where it's due, JDR has given Jones more than enough opportunity. It's on Jones ... maybe he makes good on that this summer and earns a roster spot, we'll see.

NONE of the projections by Saints fans have been correct. First of all, both Brian Young and Devery Henderson were re-signed in the off-season. The team would not have done that in order to make them a June 1st cut. Secondly, Jason David will be given every opportunity to redeem himself from last year's miserable performance. It is likely that he won't start but he'll have a good chance of making the team as a backup.

Who is Stephen Alexander? Exactly.

Some of us should just cheer for our team and leave the rest to management.

Stephen Alexander is a TE, how well do you know your team? I say cut Jason David cuz hes not worth ****. i never said cut Devery cuz hes the third/second best WR we got and i said cut Youn because personally im not a big fan of him and have never seen him do anything good. They have alot of depth at DT and someone is getting cut along the line.

Fair enough, strong was, well, too strong a word to use. But that's three starting receivers right there, with Porter and Williams outside and Northcutt in the slot.

All it is is that. Wishing. Whether they should or not, Mickey Loomis & Sean Payton still believe in David. Most of David's problems last season were mental (peeking into the backfield being the biggest hindrance) with Cover 2 still on his brain. He actually played, er, average towards the end of the season. Am I a fan of his? Hells to the no, but with his contract he's not getting cut after one atrocious season. Especially with Mike McKenzie's health still in question.

oh, no, i can understand that he wont be cut. i just think its funny to see saints fan after saints fan pile onto him.

i could have told you this would happen last year when they got him. very few cover 2 corners can translate to anything beyond average on a man-to-man team.

even my bear's guys in vasher and tillman wouldn't be great...tillman maybe just because he's physical as all hell but i don't think theyd do real well....

Well, hopefully the development of Usama Young and Tracy Porter will make David expendable after next season.

Huh?? I hate to be rude but what in the heck are you talking about?!?!?

I know Stephen Alexander is a TE. Drafted by the Redskins. Never panned out to be the great pass-catching threat that some envisioned him as when he first came into the league. Last seen with the Broncos but did not play in a single game last year. But guess what? He's not on the Saints team.

Jason David and Brian Young are not going to get cut simply because of your belief about one's worth and the other's favorability, respectively, to you. Again, Young was re-signed in the offseason. He'll be back. David can only play his way off this roster. Judging by last year, that's possible. But even Fred Thomas was given a mulligan despite not seeing much if any fielf action last year. It is possible that someone will get cut at DT. I think battles won at training camp will decide that, not who you like or dislike. I am willing to bet that Young will be on the team when it's all said and done.

I think you like yourself and that's cool by me. I say that, first, because you have shown a level of hubris in basing potential June 1st cuts on who you like and do not like as if the Saints front office will cater to your personal feelings. Even more, I say that of your failure to pay deference to the reality that my post addressed "Saints fans." Nevertheless, you stated that you did not mention Devery Henderson as a potential June 1st cut. Of course you did not, but you were not the only Saints fan that posted in this thread.

Except there's not a big reason to do that on June 1st anymore.

June 1st is the point where a cut player's cap hit gets spread over this year and next. Teams generally have a fair amount of cap room, so why not just take the hit this year and save next year's cap for next year?

Who is Stephen Alexander? Exactly.

Some of us should just cheer for our team and leave the rest to management.
