I didn't get to see every Notre Dame game but from the few I did see the one thing that consistently stood out to me was Clausen's pocket presence. I don't know if he was more focused on the immediate area around him than on what was happening downfield, but his poise just seemed far beyond what you expect from a freshman. For that reason alone, I can understand the hype. That may just be my way of seeing it, but I think that pocket presence, and therefore the ability to extend a play, is one the most important attributes a quarterback can have. The play or draft status of several recent quarterbacks has really highlighted this in my eyes, notably with Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, and Troy Smith on the positive side, and with negative examples such as Andre Woodson and David Carr (coincidentally both Giants).

Anyway, if whoever is starting at RT stays healthy, the offense should be so much better.

If this is based on last year, I don't know how you can't put the Rams last.

Man Sporting News hates us. We are last in pretty much all their rankings except RB (in which we are underrated).

When you pick 3rd overall in the draft and release and trade away talent its hard to be ranked anywhere but in the bottom of the league.

Default Eagles at two!

49 sacks given up, 5th worst in the league. Behind the Rams and Falcons. Pass blocking does not count? A bunch of Phatboys who cannot cope with speed from the outside.

I think they're assuming that the Ram's O-Line won't be decimated by injuries this year.

In a similar vein, I think they believe that Winston Justice's playing time will be cut back.
