I like the occasional Belgian beer. St Bernardus is what got me into good beer, so it will always have a place in my heart.

Belgians are awesome. njx sucks.
North Coast and Lost Coast are two of my favorite breweries. I suck at remembering names of most places though.

I tried the Abt 12 based on your recommendation and I absolutely love it. One of my new favorites.

I am happy to hear and am drinking one as I type this.
Be careful of that 10% ABV, that sneaks up on you!

Abt 12 is great because it's not that sweet. I usually hate Belgians too, but St. Bernardus is good stuff.

Well it depends on which variety of Chimay he likes. White is very different than red which is very different than blue. White is a Trippel in which I'd go Golden Monkey, La Fin Du Mond, and St. Bernardus would be the go to. Blue is ... a not sure what I'd call it but it is really similar to RR Salvation. If it is Red if you get Allegash there then all three of those types are great from that brewery but Abbey Belgian Style Ale from New Belgium is good.

A) nets are in brooklyn now so brooklyn is now awesome.
B) I am accustomed to drinking natty light aka cold alcoholic watered down piss in a can, so pardon me mister fancy, hipster, smelly, pink haired girl obsessed, rabbit diet, tebow lover, beer snob.

Brooklyn Brewery has some good stuff. The regular Brooklyn that Scotty has reminds me of a better Yuengling.

I associate Brooklyn Lager with having the shits at a Mets game, so they have a lot working against them. But I can drink it and not dislike it, that's for sure.
Going to stop by Wegmans to pick up some far away beers after work. I'll end up leaving with mostly Southern Tier, though.

there's really not much better stuff in Joe's liquor store, so it's tough to get real good stuff.
and I like yunegling, so it's a good fit.

Stopping at a liquor store on the way home tonight that usually has some different craft stuff. I'm hoping they have the Stone Anniversary IPA that Brent showed and some other good stuff. I'll probably end up with Green Flash and Great Divide as always though.

I certainly understand. Don't listen to the hipster. I love craft beer but there's a time and place for the lower tier stuff also. I'm going to Brooklyn Brewery next weekend hopefully in the middle of hipster Brooklyn.

I don't get people that drink Natty Light. Natty Ice gets you drunk faster and is just as flavorless. Why go with the Light?
I've never had either, for what it's worth.

Ice is harder to find and I think a bit more expensive. Natty Light, cold, for a 30 is like $18. I don't think they have Natty Ice at the stores here, and if they do, it's certainly not cold, and we're impatient college drunks.
