Houston and Jamaal are both pretty god awful. Anderson being the main culprit. So even if they develop, they are still holes in defense that needs to be improved.

Houston has had a very decent year ATL. He progressed well.
I think TD is a douche for not going after Albert Haynesworth when all the other 31 teams wished they could get him like we could.

He had a good stretch, but got toasted on more then a few occasions. Need I remind you of when he almost blew the Bears game?

im angry we arent going after AH, cuz we honestly would probably land him. Its frusterating, and im sure MOST fans will be upset with that. I mean, our defense would improve dramatically just by adding him, and he's help more than some defender we get in the draft. Last time i check, the Titans were the last team to lose a game, and Im sure Haynesworth's presence was a reason why teams werent productive against them

he doesn't say we aren't going after Haynesworth. he says we aren't focusing on FA. which means we have no idea what he is doing.

Basically something big better go down. B/c there is no excuse for not signing Fat Al when he wants to be in ATL. He basically made it easy for us and we just say no.

Thats like saying no to your first asian(who is identical to Lucy Lu). Ya f-ed up.

Not sure of the smokescreen though. Last yr TD stuck pretty close to what he said.

last year TD said the same thing about FA and outside of the Michael Turner signing stuck to it. I think this year we get Haynesworth and then another 2-3 "lunchpail" guys (Sean Jones, Kevin Burnett) at the stock 4 year 12M contract he gave to Coleman, Hutchins, Hartsock and Elam. I think we then go into the draft with holes at WLB, Te, DE pass rusher and OL depth.

Last year TD said he was gonna build the defense from inside out. We didn't draft one DT even though it was a huge need, and we didn't get DE till the 5th. He's saying the same thing this year.

You guys are crazy to want Haynesworth. There's a reason the Titans weren't willing to pay him what he wants. Yeah, he's a great player when he wants to be, but he's costing money that will force a team to spend less on other needs. I'd rather the Falcons spend conservatively on a number of positions than spend a ton on Haynesworth and then have to be cheap with other needs. The guy has attitude and health questions to go with his desire to be the highest paid defensive player in football.

Spending conservatively would be smart since we have a lot of need, but we can fill those through the draft. A NT like haynesworth just instantly make the whole defense better. He's just too good to pass up, but you have a very good point.

He is gonna get overpaid anywhere he goes, so why not have him overpaid to play for us??? Especially when the position is a need and he is one of the better players playing it

My rough BB as of now.

1. Larry English
-After weighing in at 274, it seems as if he will be able to hold his own against the run, which is great considering it will be John Abraham playing opposite him. Both are in a somewhat similar mold and Abraham will be able to mentor him. I can see him being a good DE in the NFL wherever he goes. Maybe not top 5, but around 5-15.

2. Brandon Pettigrew
-His 40 time is of no concern to me. He wasn't going to wow anyone with it anyway. He is a very balanced player that would be great in our run heavy scheme while providing a dependable target over the middle and redzone. He seems to be tailored for this offense.

3/4. Brian Cushing
-Our LB corp that used to be promising has gone downhill fast. Brian Cushing is a versatile player who also has great measurables in terms of speed and strength. I feel as if he was overshadowed on a USC defense that boasted Keith Rivers and Rey Maugula and can make a solid impact in the NFL.

3/4. James Laurinaitis
-Once again, our LB corp scares me. He seems to be exactly like a young Keith Brooking and that is great. I do wonder what his 40 time and cone drills are like though. I don't know too much about his athleticism. I know he has a great feel for the game though and he can come in and make an immediate impact.

5. Louis Delmas
- I dont know how well he will fit at SS. Maybe we draft him as a FS and move Erik Coleman to SS. He seems to have it when it comes to intangibles and I think that is very important when it comes to safeties (2nd most important to QBs in my opinion).

I love this D, English is my 1 as well w/ Pettigrew being my 2(lucky for us he didnt run a great 40 <4.85>) Delmas is my third guy, and Cushing/Mack being my final two.

Not a big fan at all of Laurinitus.

If we are talking late first round DEs, I'd much rather have Aaron Maybin.

I like Aaron Maybin and there is a good chance he won't be there when we pick at 24, but he's too small to play 4-3 LDE. Larry English would replace JA98 very nicely.

English, despite his weight, is still much more suited for the right side.

Pettigrew ran a 4.85 unofficialy.

Not a big fan at all of Laurinitus.
Oh Alex Mack. I forgot about him. I think he would be around 6. He is going to be an All-Pro center for years to come.
