Christopher Owens super hawked Gartrell Johnson.
Also, Spencer Adkins showed some burst getting that screen from behind. He has some tools.

Great finish. Unfortunately that's all I've seen. Chris Redman is a great backup.

So how does everyone think the HB/FB roster spots will go. They are 3 locks with Turner, Norwdood and Ovie M. Snelling has looked solid agian and has value as being a backup FB. Thomas Brown seems to be the 1 KR and flashed some ability as a HB as well. His running stats aren't that good. but he hasn't seem to have any holes to run through.
Do you think we keep both Snelling and Brown?

I hope so. I like them both. Snelling especially. Very hard runner who can do everything.

Also with Norwood being a free agent at the end of the year (i think) it wouldn't hurt to keep both of them around as insurance. I just think both are 53 of the best players on the team. I was also impressed with Booker last night.

We're obviously going to keep them both on the team. We've been over this before. Snelling will feel in for Ovie if he go's down, but we'll have 4 RB's.

We just traded for Tye Hill. Undisclosed draft pick. I like to see TD addressing issues quickly, but just how effective will he be? Hopefully a change of scenery and no injury issues can make him a steal like Foxworth.

Tom Brady (2007): 32/51 [63%], 510 yards [10.0 YPA]
Drew Brees (2008): 40/61 [66%], 610 yards [10.0 YPA]
Philip Rivers (2008): 40/63 [63%], 505 yards [8.0 YPA]
Kurt Warner (2008): 38/60 [63%], 437 yards [7.3 YPA]
Ben Roethlisberger (2004): 23/44 [52%], 317 yards [7.2 YPA]
Joe Flacco (2008): 40/69 [58%], 517 yards [7.5 YPA]
Peyton Manning (1998): 40/83 [48%], 561 yards [6.8 YPA]
Michael Vick (2002): 22/52 [42%], 466 yards [9.0 YPA], 15 attempts for 95 rushing yards [6.3 YPC]

Ohhh, so just now you're jumping on the Matt Ryan bandwagon? I see.
I'm just kidding man. I love it when you just pull out these stats, and it's from his rookie year. Fantastic.

Great game Peria Jerry. He get's double teamed a lot, when he's on one guy, he usually breaks free and gets good penetration. Kroy Biermann, wow what a menace. Winborn looked really great. I don't even want to say anything about the DBs, especially the CBs.
Chris Houston, seriously #1?? Brent Grimes, uhh not so good. Chevis Jackson, too much room, missed tackles. Chris Owens, keeps ******* up. A few good plays, come on Tye Hill, pls strap up.
Not much to say about the offense. Keith Zinger impressed, I see why we released Hartsock.

We know he can pass rush, but he is too underrated against the run. He is definitely solid in that department.

Hill’s arrival in Atlanta puts Grimes in jeopardy
Posted Sept. 04, 2009 @ 6:15 p.m.
By Dan Parr
CB Brent Grimes finds himself in a similar situation to the one he faced a year ago, as he keeps a tenuous hold on a starting job heading into the season. Grimes opened the season as the Falcons' starter at left corner in 2008, but was replaced at midseason by Domonique Foxworth, who had been acquired in the first week of September. This year, with Foxworth having departed in the offseason, GM Thomas Dimitroff has put Grimes on the hot seat again with his Sept. 1 acquisition of CB Tye Hill from the Rams. Neither Grimes nor starting RCB Chris Houston has performed well in the preseason, but sources say Grimes is the one in most serious danger of being replaced. Hill, a first-round pick in '06, probably would have been cut by St. Louis if the Falcons had not offered a late-round pick for him. That said, he could be starting for his new team before long.

shockley, thomas brown, middleton, vance walker, robert james, and jamie winborn all among those who were cut today.
pretty interesting list. surprised to see shockley cut because i didn't see much of anything out of j.p. wilson. thomas brown surprisingly didn't make the cut. and 2009 picks middleton and walker both cut.

Walker and Middleton are going to try and sneak on the PS, I'd bet. JP Wilson might not have done much, but it's better than the awful job DJ did.

Only one that shocks me is Thomas Brown I thought he played good enough to stick. JPW didn't impress me in college or in preseason so I hope he gets cut. I would rather keep Brown (or someone else) and have 2 QB's while putting JPW on the practice squad.

Hopefully this means the end of the ill fated Brent Grimes era. Brian Williams and Tye Hill are not great, but anything is an improvement for this secondary. My sense is we should expect a lot of shootouts, hence why I took Matt Ryan in my fantasy league.

It's pretty much going to be open every week in the secondary other than Coleman. If you suck, you are out. Mort is saying he's in here to compete for nickel, but I don't see it. I have to think he's our #1 or 2 by the 2nd week.
