Pretty confident in the young fellow, huh? Does Hali play left end or right? (right end lines up in front of the LT, right?)

Nice. I want to see Baker (I am pretty sure he is going to play) play against an above average DE for a whole game.

Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards should have a pretty good idea of how to contain defensive end John Abraham.
He coached him for five seasons with the New Your Jets.
Turns out the plan is pretty simple.
"He's not getting a free rush at the quarterback," Edwards said during a conference call with Atlanta media on Wednesday. "Tell him there's going to be three guys blocking him. Just don't even worry about it."
Abraham, who leads the Falcons with four sacks, said he expects Edwards and the Chiefs offense to give him zero one-on-ones Sunday.
Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith didn't go into detail on how the Falcons can get around those protection schemes, but knows his defense is in for a challenge.
"Herman is very familiar with John having the opportunity to coach him," Smith said. "I'm sure they'll put a plan in place to work against him."

Babs is going to have a huge game. He is the one that will benefit most from this.

If Coach Edwards does put three men on Abe then Jamaal better take advantage and get some sacks.

It's not going to be 3 linemen, it'll be 1 possibly 2, and a back chipping on him, but likely a TE an OT and a back to chip. It's going to be interesting to see what happens, but if they really do focus on putting 3 on him and we can stop the run early, and get ahead (I know a lot of ifs) then I see Jamaal ending his day with a pair of sacks. Then I we'll see tons of people bash him because he didn't have 12, but I'm thinking Jamaal will have at least 2 sacks this week.

Jamaal is going to rape Damion McIntosh...Seriously, he's the worst OT in the league

I'm not sure if you understand just how bad Anderson is. Mike should try and line Abe up with Damion. Or put him at LB.

He actually reminds me of something on Madden. Do you know when you do some kind of offensive training, and those orange blockers are out? Just change them around to defense and you have Jamaal. You know, they can kind of move and slide around, but penetration of any kind? Most certainly not.

You're pathetic. If he was 1/1000th of as bad as you say he is, he'd have been cut day 1.

No, I'm not pathetic. Jamaal Anderson is. And no, he wouldn't have been cut. You don't cut top 10 picks early on, because of the potential and the salary cap ramifications. That's some guarenteed cash. But yes, if he was say 28 and played like he does, he be long gone. Could he get better? Sure. As a matter of fact, he really can't go down much more. There's plenty of potential, but as for now he is just bad.

My hating on him aside, I hope he has a big day today if John Abraham is really double and triple teamed. Damion McIntosh is a lower tier NFL right tackle.
Also, they will have to watch where we line up Abraham, because we do line him up at right end and left end, not just right all the time.

You act like he's the worst DE in the league, and he's FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR from it. He's very solid against the run, he's been developing pass rush moves and you can see them in the games, even working at times, he's been around the QB just hasn't gotten him down with the ball in his hand yet. He's not that bad, you just wanted someone who was going to have 17 sacks his rookie year.

He's good against the run. Yes. So is Chauncey Davis. You don't draft a DE at pick #8 because he is good against the run. As a matter of fact....
Davis: 30 tackles, 26 solo, 2 sacks.
Anderson: 30 tackles, 26 solo, 0 sacks.
That's last year's statistics. I wasn't expecting 17 sacks or anything ridiculous like you claim, but that is flat out unacceptable.
He's slowly getting better. That's correct. He actually has some moves, but he's a long way from even being average. He really is that bad, and I'm not sure why you don't see that. He's got an elite pass rusher on the other side of the line, who is often taking double teams. Yet he doesn't have a sack in 18 games. Not even a FF on defense. That's terrible.

Yep. I'm expecting Smith to run put him at OLB as well, and maybe play a little 3-4.

Jamaal Anderson is only 22 years old, and younger then a lot of kids that are coming out this year. I'd give him more time, we arent ready to win 10 games in a year so why not? I still think he could be a pretty good DE once he develops. Still very raw as you all can see.

The problem with the 'age' defense is it becomes more and more irrelevant every week. He should be producing. Mario Williams was just as young and he showed steady, discernible improvement, even as he was the only pass rushing threat on his team. Jamaal Anderson is playing across from a dominant pass rusher and he still cannot break through.
Jamaal was a "BOOM/BUST" player coming out of college and he is looking like a bust, I am sorry to say. I don't think that is the pessimistic attitude, I think that it is the realistic attitude. If he was going to turn into something great he would have shown something, anything by now.

No way to argue what you said, i agree he should of showed something by now. Four years ago, he was barely 200 pounds and was a WR. Now he's at least 280 and playing DE. Just saying we cant give up on him just yet.
