Weis won't be gone because he's one of the top recruiters in the nation. That programs has taken some lumps, but they are slowly on their way back.

I actually tlhink that Manti will not go on his mission. after his comments about wanting to be out of his comfort zone and everything. and then he said that he would decide after his freshman year!

i honoustly think a starting spot will be given to either him or carlo calabrese (who is seriously underrated and a scary hard hitter)

Well, is ND going with a 3-4 or 4-3?
What about Steve Filer, Darius Fleming, Anthony McDonald and rest of the LBs? Who do you project to start?

We will be in a hybrid 3-4. I see it as Fleming, Te'o, Smith, and Filer as the LBers. We are really stacked at LB, it is ridiculous. Harrison Smith is being moved to Safety. And Zeke Motta and Calabrese are two very very underrated players at the position!

The ILBs will probably be Toryan Smith and Brian Smith starting initiall, with Anthony McDonald & David Posluszny pushing for time. It'll give Calabrese a chance to acclimate himself.
The OLBs will be Darius Flemming and Steve Filer, or possibly Kerry Neal. Behind these 3 will be John Ryan, Te'o and Motta.
I fully believe that one of the frosh OLB will surpass Ryan and work into the OLB rotation, if not both of them.

I saw the game.
He didn't play a lot but he definitely made his presence felt when he was on the field, making a couple of tackles and delivering a big hit that has Irish fans in a lather. I imagine his role will only increase as the season goes along and they are cross-training him at a couple of positions.
As for the possible mission, it's up in the air at this point.

SW summed it up nicely...his playing time was minimal but it does appear that his athletic ability will transfer well to the college level...

The scary thing is, he is already among the best defensive players on the ND squad as a non-early-enrollee-true-freshman. Only guy he is behind without doubt is KMac. But he already is amongst the group of solid players in a porous defense (EJ Ian Williams, KLM is getting there and Darius Fleming can play decent)

He's so good. I'd kill someone to have him on Michigan.

Ehh often times i see him out of position on plays but i love his motor. He is always trying to get on the tackle no matter what.

Building up the Te-o, gotta love a guy with that name, and even more when he is such an impact player.

Te'o is returning for his remaining seasons @ND. He has delayed his mission but the exact moment he will take it is now unknown. Not really big news but nice news for domers

Bet you are glad you didn't bet on that one D-Unit. His "mission" is going to be playing the next 3 years. Now that is neat.

I'm referring to him getting caught drinking while on his visit and BYU pulling the offer.

It was kept under wraps but since we're from the same town, everyone there pretty much knows about it.
