Just ordered Fallout 3 for about 20 bucks. Do you guys think the game has aged well, or would I have been better off spending the extra $30 on New Vegas?

Just beat it again a couple months back, it's still fun.
Man I kind of want Madden 12 to come out already.I wanna see what kind of play book Harbaugh is gonna run in SF and see what QB he is gonna take.Aug is so far away lol.
I was just reading through a Mass Effect 2 guide trying to figure out how to keep everyone alive at the end of the game and I can't believe how insanely lucky I got the first time through. (Only Mordin died.) I didn't read anything about it going in and just happened to pick the right characters for each role.
I figure as long as I make the same choices as last time but have Mordin lead the survivors back to the ship, everyone should make it this time.

What I did....
Firstly, do all of the loyalty missions for everyone before you meet Legion. This is important if you want to keep the crew alive.
Secondly, make sure you have all of the ship upgrades. I don't think you need to have the medical face repair thing, but everything else needs to be installed. Upgraded guns, armor and shields. I've been told for every one of these you don't have, someone dies.
Thirdly: On my first try, Tali died. I don't even remember seeing her die. She was just dead for some reason at the end. So I sent Tali back with the doctor and the crew (the second time I tried, because they were dead the first time).
Fourthly, I don't know if this makes a difference for you, but I didn't let Mordin kill his student. And I didn't have to choose sides in the Miranda/Jack or Tali/Legion confrontations because my charm was high enough.
Fifth, when I faced the final boss, I brought Mordin and Kasumi. Mordin because incinerate is teh secks and Kasumi because I didn't know what else to do with Kasumi. She's completely useless for 5/6ths of the game and you're probably using someone else for the other 1/6th anyway. If you didn't get that DLC..... don't. If you talk to Kasumi on board the Normandy, she comments there isn't much need for a thief on a starship..... well, there wasn't much need for one anywhere else either.

I did every loyalty mission and had every upgrade the first time and plan to this time, but this time I'm playing as almost a pure renegade character. So I've been an ass and kill when it easier, and I'm letting my characters be evil too.
Even though Garrus and Grunt are my normal team, I'm going to leave them to defend this time and take Tali and Jack since I think they're the most likely to die in defense after Mordin. And like I said I'm going to send Mording back as the escort.
Otherwise, I don't think the path you played has much impact...as long as everyone is loyal and you make intelligent choices in assigning them the different roles at the end.
So apparently Shenmue creator, Yu Suzuki, has been given the greenlight to make Shenmue 3 but there are money problems that must be ironed out.
Quote:
Suzuki mentioned that Sega will let him make Shenmue 3, but there's a "budget issue," suggesting that if Suzuki finds an outside company to fund the game it could happen, but Sega probably won't be funding it themselves.
Droooooooool. Shenmue is right up there with the likes of Mass Effect as my favorite game series.
Only 5 more to go if he puts this one out... And there are always money problems with Yu Suzuki games. I don't know how that guy burns through so much dough... The first Shen Mue set a record for money put into a video game.

Shenmue 3 would be the finale. There's no way he can make all the Shenmue games he wanted. He said he'd like to conclude the series for the fans ASAP.
As for Shenmue's actual development cost...it's actually considerably less than previously believed. It wasn't actually $70+ million, but $47 million. Still a very lofty number, but a lot less than what was originally believed. Suzuki addressed this in the same interview, actually. Pretty interesting.
Seriously though, it's still in doubt, I dont know who would fund the thing. Granted, the game wouldnt have to cost nearly what it did back then. The Yakuza games are in the same mold and are made for far less. ($21 million for the first two total) Their best hope is for either Sony or a Wii developer to gain interest in the series. There is a cult following, but sales expectations would be pretty damn low from the get go.
Ok guys, I can confirm a few things about the new Crysis 2 Demo
-New Map. Skyline is still present, but the new map included, Pier 17, is awesome.
-Handles much better. Much less weighty and more responsive.
-Kills from distance are actually possible now. The hit detection/lag is MUCH improved.
-Energy expenditure from sprinting is reduced.
-Melee is no longer an automatic kill and is much harder to pull off.
Going to tell a little story about why I like this game so much.
I was on Pier 17 and in the "Mall" area. Didn't see anyone around, but was on my toes. I rounded a corner into a darkly lit area and an enemy and I both saw each other at the same time.
Here's the interesting thing though; neither of us shot. We both had the same thought and went cloaked. Now, it's not hard to see someone cloaked in a brightly lit area, but being in the dark it made it much harder to see.
For about ten seconds neither of us could see the other until he made the mistake of shifting into an area where the sun poured in and I just barely saw him. Lit him up with my LMG and got the just barely got the kill.
It's situations like that that make this game so unique and so fun.
That game will not get my money any time soon. They should release a single player campaign demo.
Oh and I just got a call that one of our Gamestops is closing in my mall. Damn near everything is closing in the mall, I doubt that they're having any big sales, though. Since again, we do have another Gamestop just about 50 feet further down the mall. They just called to tell me that all my reservations have been transferred to the other one. But yeah, that mall is damned ghost town now.
Mall desertion is an interesting process. I've seen it happen a few times(Including one that was open for a month with just a FootLocker and Pretzel place open) and it's always really weird. Been to a few abandoned malls too and that's even weirder. The kids rides were still up. Very creepy.
But yeah, I'm not really worried about the single player much. Crysis had a very, very good campaign and from the videos I've seen of the upcoming one I expect nothing less. Mutliplayer always comes first for me with shooters though. That's where the real value is for your dollar.
I'm from a more rural area and our mall is still pretty happening back home. It's actually growing, and building up around it.
However where I am now, it's a bigger city and the mall here is dead as can be. It's normally the opposite in that places in bigger cities grow while rural areas are dying.

So basically...
Sweet, thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely going to check it out then.
I really hated Skyline for whatever reason. Sounds like this map is much more interesting.
