spoiler, but extremely necessary so i won't hide it.
whatever you guys do, do your N7 missions/multiplayer stuff before going after the illusive man. after that you will not be able to increase your galactic readiness. I'm going into my final battle with 50% default readiness in all sectors and a poor rating....its a little bit rough.

From what I read that shouldn't affect it at all. Your military strength is what is important.

update: hopefully its not spoilerish, but just reassurance.
after you beat the game, it sends you back to that exact moment before the assault so you can fix all your mistakes without having to redo all those(30 for me) hours of work again.
consider it a failsafe just in case you are undecided on doing something or not. play it exactly how you would normally play it, because you will have a chance to redo it if it sucks.
about galactic readiness impact on final assault
update-nevermind...holy **** there are all kinds of possibilities here. You MUST do everything to have the best outcome. The readiness rating divides your overall military strength and that number determines the outcomes of the game. Get as many military forces and raise that readiness factor as high as you can. you have to do it for the best options.

for those of you playing renegade... does everyone just hate you like, all the time? half of them seem to hate me, and i'm nothing but nice. i can't even imagine the potential reaction if i really was a scumbag.
Pretty much just the mistake of not having my galactic readiness higher and being able to do all the side missions that I thought were less important than running to Earth at the earliest possible moment because billions were dying. The most generic way that I can say it helps is that: recruited fleets/military multiplied by readiness % =final military rating.
the more detailed, but without explicit spoilers is
That rating determines how many choices you have and what and how that what happens to the galaxy. IGN has the breakdown listed here http://www.ign.com/wikis/mass-effect-3/Endings in spoiler free (unless you click on where it tells you to) so you can see what level of military readiness you need to be. However....its the biggest possible spoiler so don't click on those, just get your readiness and military as high as possible(4 or 5,000 recommended).

How do you kill this giant geth spider or repear spider? Stupid targeting system takes so long to aim.
hold it down the entire time, you have to blindly trust that it will kill him. its after you already hit him 3-4 times and when the slow motion thing happens you can't let off the trigger.

Everybody hates me guts essentially. I feel like a dick half the time.
Nine hours in and so far I'm having a blast. Great to see old squad members in small roles. Unfortunately I lost Kasumi and Thane in my final mission of ME2, do they play large roles in ME3? Also don't have Legion, I gave him to Cerberus, so hopefully he doesn't play too huge a role.
Can anyone help me with this:
I just moved into a new place and the wifi here is 802.11n at 2.4GHz. I have the xbox 360 s 250gb so it should be able to connect without the network adapter. The 360 will scan and find the SSID i want but after I enter the password, it says Test Failed and cant connect. wtf
oh i think it has to do with the WPA encryption

You might be better off with a google search since with the brand and model and xbox wireless connection. You might have to tinker with the setting in the router and xbox.
i hate this game...have to make so many tough life and death choices, whyyy do you torment me!!. I want my bros by me, but i need da power of fleets to fight.

I was thoroughly satisfied with the end, and I had the shittiest possible ending. Although, it was probably also the most realistic.
The only thing that kinda sucks was the last couple hours of just "pulling teeth" against hordes of guys who seemed to regenerate health. However, it did make it feel like a challenge.

I do like how the game changes up and gives you a curve ball every now and then for missions. Sometimes you get the same thing, make your way through here, kill, kill and kill and then then you get some cools missions or very short side quest.
I figured out what happened. I fell backwards in my chair and hit my head off the coffee table, and that was all just a brain-swelling induced dream. Has to be it.
Can't wait to gain consciousness again and finish the game for real.
I must say although I have not played the game yet, reading the riots of peoples online posts about the terribleness of the game has been very entertaining.
