She admitted to slapping Plaxico in his face and both restraining orders were dismissed in court. This appears to be more of a personal issue, not something that could get Burress suspended.

With the Giants he fined 2 guys for showing up less then 5 minutes early for a meeting. I don't see what the big deal is, Plax has missed 95% of practices anyway since joining the Giants.

insubordination is what got me like 2 weeks of in-school suspension when I was in high school

Did you all hear this?

Recently-suspended Giants WR Plaxico Burress has been fined a stunning 40-50 times during his four seasons in New York, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. The fines have been levied for various offenses, mainly related to Burress' tardiness for meetings and treatments.
|
Even if he was fined a dollar only, how the heck do you get fined so many times?

I heard that last week MetSox and I think that just helps explain the suspension more.

Sorry Giants hotline. Lol. The only reason i posted the link was because i saw the story on Yahoo! Usually their stuff is pretty updated, so i'm surprised it's here just now.
But anyway, yeah, i guess that does explain the suspension a little, although i'm not too impressed. Suspending him during a bye-week is like the college coach that suspends his players when they play Alcorn State instead of Georgia.
I guess coaches worry more about not cutting off their nose to spite their face than actual discipline.
Edit - I realize that he was suspended after skipping practice, which coincidentally was during a bye week, but i'm just saying..

no surprise, Steve Smith said Plax kinda does what he wants. since we're winning and he's not bitching and he's pwning on the field, it hasn't been overblown. He's quietly just taken the fines that's that.

He's still missing the Seahawks game. It is really a one week suspension. Although he loses two weeks pay. But I heard they reached a settlement to lower that a bit.

The fine went from like $237,000 to $117,000 or something like that.

Don't worry about it man. It's all good. Also, remember Coughlin fines people for socks length, time for meetings, and so on. So If someone had a diva like mentality, you can get fines for almost everything from skipping meetings, and treatment to socks, to meetings, and so on. I am sure in one week you can get alot of them.

Yeah, i understand, but it's things like ESPN that make my blood boil. T.O says that the team will be more successful if he gets the ball, and it's all over sportscenter and every damn show. Plastico gets fined 50 times and it doesn't even make a Sportscenter Right Now clips. Man i hate them.

LOL. This suprises you? I don't know why. Espn is on their knees when it comes to your team and them. They love you like a porn star loves.. well you get the picture. ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING that's Cowboys related is going to be on BS.. i mean ESPN. I am suprised we made ESPN when we won the superbowl. I guess they sorta had to put us on there. I rememeber watching last years season opener in Dallas and it was a ESPN-Cowboy love fest. They Aikman, and showed him sitting with Skeletor in his box, and then interviewed Emmitt Smith for dancing with the Stars, and that singer guy. The next day the Mara family wrote a letter to the NFL to get on ESPN for being bias. My point is this is nothing new. If Skeletor wants to be main stream and all over the press, then every little bit of news will make it, good or bad, ESPECIALLY if it's ESPN.

No, i'm not surprised at all, i just get pissed. I have basic satellite, so BSPN and the deux are all the sports channels i have, after the pricks at Dish ripped me of my NFL Network. So it's either that, or nothing. I hate them, and i hope that the players start hating them as well so they know people despise the fact that they've turned into TMZ and not a sports highlights channel.

ESPN=MTV
That's pretty much what has happened.. MTV used to be all music videos, and now it's all lame shows. ESPN news is what ESPN should be with constant sports, but now ESPN is basically like you said TMZ of sports. Following the TO saga in Philly to TO saga in Dallas and now season 3 Favre saga. ESPN had their own reality show too to be a host if I am not mistaken, lol.

I'll take every chance I get to post "SEE SIG!"
:D
Maybe I missed in the thread, but this was the first article I saw that actually made anything more than a vague reference to Plax "probably" having many prior offenses to get suspended for missing a meeting/practice.
