Default Cortland Finnegan

I am a Vikings fan, and obviously saw the disappointing game the Vikings put up today. However I must say I was ridiculously impressed with Cortland Finnegan. To me, he is easily one of the best, if not the best relatively unknown CB in the NFL. The kid is flat out amazing, tackles extremely well, covers like a blanket and fast as well. Love his toughness, does not look over powered ever and wow what a tackler in the open field.

And he was a 7th round pick? Wow, you guys are lucky to have him on your team. What wonderful feet as a corner and if he keeps playing this well he is easily a pro bowl CB in my book.

PS You guys did not physically beat us up like everyone said you would, and if we did not give you the damn ball in the red zone or on our side of the field because of turnovers what 2-3 times...the outcome could have been a lot different. Wonderful how Justin Gage has developed, I always liked him as a big former basketball player WR prospect on Missouri.

Don't know who was saying that but it wasn't Titans fans. Anyways, Finnegan is a beast. I just wish he could've got that INT that went right through his hands.

Finnegan is pretty well known now, but he is still one of the best man-to-man corners right now.

Thanks for the recognition, Ozzy. Ya'll played a good game, and had it not been for the fumbles and penalties, the score would have been a lot closer.

I dunno who thought we would knock ya'll guys around. If you look in our Titans discussion thread, you'll see that most Titans fans thought these two teams were very similar to each other. It was a two score game til just about the very end, and those who watched the game know the score is a bit misleading. Though, I will contend that our team was the better one today, and I think we would have won even if we didn't force the turnovers.

It was basically on sports radio a few times I heard it. People saying the Titans would be the far most physical team overall. Let us not forget one of the best blocking OTs in Bryant McKinnie was out and Hicks is not where close to the same as a run blocker.

But yeah overall your guys team is far more disciplined, consistent and dangerous on offense. Could easily make a Super Bowl run in the moderately down AFC this year.

Finnegan is a freaking pro bowler though, what an outstanding corner, so tough and so rock solid in ever area.

And watching the game, the real 'freak' is Keith Bulluck, he has been so good for so long it is scary.

Hey, I'm a Lions fan, I was wondering how you guys think Finnegan compares to Victor Harris? With Schwartz coming on I think Harris could be an excellent fit in our system and could have increased value for us at the end of round 2 or beginning of round 3.

Finnegan is smaller and faster than Harris and was able to be left alone on an island a lot of the time. Harris isn't fast but he's not slow either, and his best bet is probably in a team that mostly plays zone. As prospects though Harris is obviously better there because he's coming in as a guy who is projected as a 2nd or 3rd rounder at CB. Finnegan was a 7th rounder that was a safety in college that was moved over to CB. I haven't seen enough of Harris to determine if he's as physical as Finnegan or not.

Thanks. Although I do see Harris running in the 4.4 to 4.3 at the combine.

Just so everyone knows...

Cortland Finnegan runs a 4.33 40.

Just incase any more comparisons are made with the DB's turn in the combine coming up on Tuesday.
