Yes but Boller has never looked as good as Flacco. Flacco is better now then Boller ever was.

Not true, Kyle was the MAN in those games against Minnesota and Green Bay.
As for the turnover part, Flacco turns the ball over in spurts and that can be a problem. If he can limit them yes the defense can make up for it, but if its like the Tennesse game then it will get ugly. But hey at least the offense is fun to watch so rock on Joe Cool.

I'll admit I hated the Flacco pick at first, and I was still pissed off when we lost to Tennessee and Pittsburgh. I just remember thinking if we had a decent QB we could have won. But he's really turned it on as of late. We really do need to get him some weapons to continue his development though.

I love Joe Flacco. Leading up to the draft I begged for him over Matt Ryan. Thought his mobility and arm strength were great.

Obviously now I have changed my mind who I want at QB(Ha little homerism, but can you blame me?).

Im just real glad to see him playing well b/c my assumptions were right and it is also good to see both Ryan and Flacco doing so well, and eventually being Pro-Bowlers.

These two guys will always be compared throughout their careers. Its nice we are in separate divisions too.

Where's ERU? He was ready to fold the franchise when they picked Flacco.

Not yet he's not, the Ravens need a deep threat for him. Every deep ball he threw in the PIT game was overthrown (good thing too, our WR's couldn't get (separation). A guy like DHB would be perfect IMO, even if he doesn't run great routes the most important thing he would do right away is go deep. We have good route-runners in Clayton and Mason.

How different do you think the season would have been if Troy Smith was the starting QB for the whole season? Just wondering what you guys think.

Superbowl Champs! Troy is a better QB, better arm, doesn't overthrow every pass, or throw every pass 8 feet too high. Troy's mobility would also have lead to us beingmore dynamic.

Yeah I probably agree Troy should have started this year, but Flacco did great in his own right, and will be fantastic for this franchise moving forward. This year's experience will do wonders for him.

tough to say. I thought Troy was the future until we got Flacco. But now we are in w/ Flacco. Who despite what ERU said is pretty darn good.

Please, there are few QB's in the NFL that do have a better arm than Flacco. Troy's arm is average at best. IDK how much our season would have changed, although our offense would have been worse IMO. At least with Flacco there is the threat of going deep, thus opening up more space for our running game.

Bein able to throw the ball a mile doesnt mean you have a good arm, you gotta have accuracy and Joe lacks that on passes over 15 yards.

And Troy Smith can't throw accurate passes over 15 yards either. My point was that there is the possibility that he will go deep, unlike Troy. You also make it sound like every pass Flacco throw it's a miracle that he's remotely close, when in reality he is pretty accurate. Sure he has his bad throws, but they are better overthrown than underthrown. Remember, he did come from Delaware. I bet he still hasn't gotten used to the speed of the NFL.

Yeah because he couldn't beat out Tyler Palko at a 1a school, that should tell you something right there.

And Matt Cassell couldn't beat out Matt Leinart at USC. I don't think you can really make decisions about who is better based on who the college coaches liked more. I really want to know why you hate Flacco so much. Are you that in love with what a mobile QB can do?

college means jack sh!t now its the big leagues. Bottom line is Flacco is one of the most physically gifted QB in the league, he can not only move to buy time in the pocket but he can run to get extra yards. Combine it with his big frame and a rocket arm and great poise that you can't teach. Face this guy did better then anyone ever thought he would do this year, he has shown he has the talent to be a franchise QB.

I hate him, because of threads like this one......."Flacco is God"......no he isn't in fact he was average to below avergae all year long. He is vastly overrated by the fans in Baltimore as a "great" QB when he is anything but. Could he become one? Sure why not, but Im not gonna sit here and act like he is some top level QB in the NFL when he is not.

Maybe he will be a franchise QB, I hope so, or else we wasted alot of money but I dont see it. I see him as a guy who can't win you games, and we're always gonna be relying on our defense to win our games for us and have him just not turn the ball over.

Joe has upside and has shown he can lead... Flacco had more then enough passes less then 15yds that were needle threading passes like a peyton or elway or big ben but he never had anyone to go deep to ...

Just look at his numbers.. he completed 60% of his passes in his rookie year a passer rating over 80 (ahead of Big Ben) and threw more TDs then INTs and threw for almost 3k in yds?! out of an offense we know to be a strictly running offense...

Pretty good start in my book.. and if Troy was so much better Cam would have made that switch early on...

Pretty good start in my book.. and if Troy was so much better Cam would have made that switch early on...
Actually from the that infection he took awhile to get into shape, by then we were rolling ala the Pats with Brady.

Either way its the offeseason this debate and ours will flourish.

How can you hate on Flacco??? He proved he can come up with the important play at the right time. Big Ben never won this many playoff games his first time in the playoffs?? Nor did he even perform well in super bowl when he got there.. if you remember he threw a bunch of picks and was a non factor in the SB.. so don't be quick to judge him because he failed in the AFC Championship game?! Cam will open things up more for him next season and we will see an even better Offense with an entire off season together and full season under their belts...

I see flaws Joe can work on and my main criticism is the lack offensive gameplan in the Championship game. Hell it was a great season and should set us up for the next few years, but with our FA's we could just as easily be in deep trouble. Either way lets just watch who we resign and look forward to the draft.

Troy Smith is the better quarterback? Seriously? We're still saying that? Yes, because having a good game against the Seattle Seahawks and beating a Pittsburgh team with nothing to play for shows us that. Believe me I like Troy but he's done nothing to warrant any type of praise.

Lacks accuracy on balls over 15 yards? What? Say what you want about Joe but that's about the furthest thing from the truth. If anything his deep ball is his main strength.

Joe showed ridiculous improvement over the second half of the season, and through the first two games of the playoffs he did exactly what he needed to do to win. Made throws when he needed to and didn't turn the ball over.

The AFC Championship was terrible, no doubt. But if we're going to get back to 'Troy Smith is the better QB' after a bad performance AT Pittsburgh, against the #1 pass defense in the NFL, when our receivers couldn't get open worth a damn, then I don't know what to say.

He had arguably one of the top 3 seasons EVER for a rookie quarterback. On the Baltimore Ravens. He's the TRUTH.
