Brady Hoke would take that job in a heartbeat, he's practically campaigning for it.
What part of the allure don't you get? It's a deep recruiting area, it's one of the most storied programs in college football, it's got money, it's got a fan-base that fills a 100,000 seat stadium. What's the problem?

You don't get the allure of the Michigan program? I must be missing something.

The unrealistic expectations are the killer for me. I made a blind statement on what I would do (no way in hell would I ever leave San Diego for anywhere, unless my livelihood depended on it) and didn't actually google his name. Sounds like he wants it. I apologize for asking one of the dumbest questions ever.

The scuttlebutt is that Harbaugh will be the next HC at Michigan. Nothing more than a formality now. Just have to wait until he takes care of business with Stanford.

According to pretty good sources, Randy Edsall was set to be the next Minnesota coach but turned it down at the last minute. I'd guess Maryland is a slight upgrade in quality of job.

Edsall to Maryland is done. Looks like all the Leach and Rich Rod rumors were just smoke.
Funny how terribly wrong internet rumors have been this year. Like throwing **** at a wall.

Is Maryland really that great of a job compared to UConn? I mean i know UConn isnt a football school but it just doesnt seem like a huge upgrade.

Maryland has the UA founder banking them as best he can to replicate Nike University at Eugene on the East Coast. So from that perspective yes, UMd is a better job but in terms of moving up the coaching ladder it was an idiotic move as at best he'll hope for second place in the ACC Atlantic for the foreseeable future.

Wait, let me guess, because Florida State is an insurmountable force on the path to numerous national titles?
Did I do it right?

Oh yeah, they have to get 2nd because the greatness of FSU is in the Atlantic...we forgot about that.

Well lets see, in the foreseeable future Randy Edsall will pretty much need to gut a lot of the Maryland roster to get the type of players he wants (he and Friedgen had very different philosophies on who they took on). This while not having easy access to the recruiting territory that FSU and Clemson do. Instead they'll compete with VaTech, UVA, UNC, and N.C. State for the mid-Atlantic region where he goes head to head with Frank Beamer, Butch Davis, and one helluva recruiter in Mike London, not to mention Tom O'Brien.

That Virginia Tech team that has made like 11000 straight orange bowls will just **** the bed for the next 17 years while Florida State runs off championships.

I have heard Mark Whipple's name brought up to be the next head coach at UConn. Wouldn't be a bad hire. Interviewed for BC job, national title at UMass, former HC at Brown and New Haven

Is this from someone/something reliable? I have a bad feeling that his family is going to keep him in California.

Norm Chow is possibly out at UCLA. Hearing things both ways, but some credible sources are saying he's out.

Why would you think Michigan fans would claim that we didn't want the hottest coaching candidate out there?
Michigan wants Harbaugh. I'm 99.99999999999999% positive that he's going to Michigan or he's going to San Francisco. He's not going to Denver and he's not going to Carolina. If he declines the Michigan job it's going to be because of his family. He lives in California right now with his wife and some of his kids. Him and his wife just had a baby less than two weeks ago. His ex-wife also lives in California and she has custody of, I think, one kid and his oldest son is at Oregon State. He has a perfect living situation right now. He'd be inconveniencing himself and his family while taking less money to come to Michigan.
Lastly, why would it be unreasonable to think that Michigan might not want Brady Hoke? What on his resume even makes him worthy of the Michigan job? I personally think he is going to be a serious candidate if Harbaugh goes to San Francisco, but he's FAR from a slam-dunk, "no school would turn him down" coach. In eight years as a coach, he's had three seasons above .500. If he wasn't a former assistant at U-M, he wouldn't even be in the discussion.
