That's because there were no Rutgers fans before Schiano. Who was only there since the early 2000's.

There were but it's not like it is today. The transformation is actually pretty incredible which is why it hurts to see him leave.
Anyway our AD is interviewing Addazio from Temple and Cristobal today. A decision is expected to made quick so we have a coach in place for Signing Day.

I actually think that either of those guys will be an improvement. There should be no worries.

We'll see. Cristbal has no ties to the NJ high schools and apparently Addazio is very over aggressive. I'm keeping an open mind and when we make a hire I'll see how I feel.

Would you really hire a crappy coach just to save this recruiting class? Because quite frankly, Steve Addazio sucks. Run up the middle a billion times a game. That's Steve Addazio.

Addazio's recruiting ability plus NJ's talent would be a real success. Since Cristobal is from Miami, coached at Miami and now FIU he's likely going to try to recruit Dade County. Don't think it's going to work.

Cristobal has accepted the head coaching position at Rutgers. Negotiations are underway on the contract and will probably be announced later today or tomorrow.

Yeah I agree and I just said the same thing in the Rutgers thread. I'm going to assume part of the negotiations would have been keeping the coaching staff intact.

Isn't that what Schiano did when he first went to Rutgers?

Yeah we took the Florida scraps early on. The longer Schiano was here the better we recruited NJ.

sorry for the double post, but...
From Bruce Feldman's twitter:

The reports out of NJ that FIU coach Mario Cristobal will be next coach at Rutgers are "NOT TRUE." He is staying at FIU.

other sources confirm this
from Pete Thamel (NYtimes college sports)

The two candidates Rutgers will now consider are interim Kyle Flood and former RU asst John McNulty (AZ Cardinals asst).

Well the new Rutgers coach is Kyle Flood. I have no idea how this is going to go even though he's well respected in the area.

So rumor is that Iowa is hiring Jim Hermann as our DC. From what I've read, Michigan fans really like it because they think they'll be able to score at will on us now. He apparently runs a bend, don't break D, which fits perfectly with what Iowa has been doing for 13 years.
Anyone have any insights on the guy? I just know he was Michigan's DC after Mattison pt. 1 and before the Dark Ages.

Rutgers should hire Cignetti because he's from Pittsburgh. Obviously I'm joking on my latter statement, but I believe he could be a nice little HC.

It's gonna be flood, hopefully it works well. He's the hiring that'd bring the least turnover, of any, which could be good

It's already official that it's Flood. Hopefully Cigs stays on as OC and we hire a great young DC.

Uggh I hate Twitter because any rumor blows up in minutes and you never know what's sourced. Anyway rumor is Tom Bradley will come in to be RU Def. Coordinator. I seriously doubt it though.

Iowa promotes current DBs coach Phil Parker to DC. He's the guy who over the past 2 years has basically run our D with Norm Parker out, and we've had mediocre at best defenses despite being loaded with NFL talent. Faaaantastic.
Also, rumor that Soup Campbell will be promoted to OC while still handling WR coaching. This would go along with Reese Morgan moving from OL coach to DL coach, Darrell Wilson moving from LB coach to secondary coach. Rumor also that Brian Ferentz will join the staff to coach OL and TEs, and that we will hire an actual QB coach.
Not very exciting for a team that is 15-11 in the past 2 seasons.

Former Tennessee QB Tee Martin to USC as WR coach.
Must be nice to coach Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, George Farmer, and Nelson Agholor.
