I don't have any real problems with that because he did lead with his helmet. Who was it on the Vikings that hit Jeff Garcia last week, about 3 seconds after he threw the ball and hit him right in the helmet, that was a hit that deserves a fine and a suspension.

Ray Edwards but he is mentally challenged so it is alright.

Allen also put out Schaub for a couple weeks by diving at his knees...twice. After hitting another player late, Goodell had every right to call him up.
It may be the No Fun League, but Allen had it coming. He's lucky he only got a fine.

I was going to agree, but if you play back the tape like 10 or so times on the replay, you can see that Allens helmet snapped Rogers helmet back.
Flag? Yes, Fine? No more than 5-10k.

The amount makes sense. This is not the first time that Allens been fined due to late or illegal hits.

Wow...That's all I have to say.
He was BARELY hit and not even helmet to helmet, or below the knee or whatever.
I constantly see Bulger take bigger hits after the play and nothings ever flagged yet FINES involved.
That's the most rediculous fine I've ever seen.
Yeah, late it, fine, it was. But fine worthy? That's effin' dumb.
Wow. I'm dumbfound.
Rodgers isn't even Tom Brady, I could see a fine like that for Brady just because he's the NFL's baby, but that shouldn't have EVER been fined.
/end rant

i think he was fined due to a cheap shot or two earlier in the season where he hit a QB below the legs.

I thought so. Seriously though, Jared Allen is one of my favorite defensive players in the league though

Mine too. I love his attitude, as much trouble as it may seem to get him in.

He's so blue collar. I hate when these stars see hat first million dollar paycheck and it's all downhill from there. Jared Allen seems like he's the same person now that he was at Idaho State.

you know what... Before the MN vs. GB Monday night game earlier this year, Jared Allen was quoted saying he wanted to put his helmet directly into the back of Rodgers. He's been lighting everybody up and getting hit with fines. Taking pocket change from a guy like Allen isn't gonna change a thing. Suspensions are the only thing that will make any sort of difference.
Am I saying he's dirty? no.. But fines don't mean jack. Remember Moss laughing about his fine saying he'll pay "with straight cash"

Yeah, that was before.
This is now, nothing illegal about this hit.
It's the dumbest fine I've heard of. For a legal (Late) but legal hit on a quarterback.
Ugh, rediculous.

It was an illegal hit. He was flagged for it.
Players will get punished for a string of incidents. Had another player bumped Rodgers, it would probably have gone unpunished. But since it was Allen, who's hurt a QB with late blows previously in the season, it was called.
Last year Haynesworth was flagged with a personal foul for tackling MoJo Drew too roughly. Refs will not hesitate to flag players with rap sheets. Allen got fined for goin low on Schaub, he hit another QB late according to the Refs, and Goodell hit his change purse again for it.

Your blind or dont know the rules. How can it be legal and late? Helmet to helmet isnt a legal hit especially after the QB has released the ball. I watched his hits on Schaub and he was diving for his legs and hit them well after the ball was gone. QB's overly protected? yes but for the most part their sitting ducks.
