If I understand correctly, his contract runs out at the end of 2009. So we've got him for another year and a half, and then we can give him a reasonably high tender for his RFA year without much of a hit. So we've got Norwood til then end of 2010 without paying him any big money.
Then, by the start of the 2011 season, he'll be 28. By that point, I agree, it's probably not a good idea to throw big money at Norwood (or at any RB, for that matter). On the other hand, I can't see him being a prima donna about the cash, and he will have very limited tread on his tyres.
In any case, I don't see us worrying about this for at least another 2 years...
