McMichael on the move

A source said today that the Dolphins are shopping Randy McMichael, who is the franchise's all-time leader in catches (283) and receiving yards (3,096) for a tight end. The Dolphins are asking for a third-round pick, the source said.

If we could trade McMichael, for a 3rd rounder, and end up getting Drew Stanton, i think that would be a good deal.

I would hate to see McMichael go, and I feel that he is worth more than a 3rd, but I'm not the GM now. He might have had an off year but that was because Joey never threw to him, and when he did, the throws were awful, and Satan mostly had him as a blocker. He is full of potential and trading him could bite us in the ass.
BTW, if we trade him, who would we get to replace him? A free agent like Johnson, Stevens, or Graham? Or draft pick?

My only concern is getting someone to replace him. I was really hoping Cameron would use him like he did Gates because he has that type of receiving ability. Maybe Cameron really likes someone in the draft.

This one confuses me some as well, I bet they go with a more pass blocking TE if he is traded.

this would be great. When it comes to big plays, Randy has butter fingers. I'd be happy to give him up for a 4th-- a 3rd would be great. Maybe a team like Chicago, Carolina, or Cincy will bite.

i wouldnt go any lower than a 3rd for him. in a weak FA class and a weak draft, if we couldnt get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him he is more valuable to us than the 4th round draft choice.

wtf...now its being reported that he is going to be released...i understand the want to clear payroll and rebuild but getting absolutely nothing in return for a top 10 TE in the league is absolutely ridiculous. i know he has a big salary but we dotn absolutely NEED the cap room and if we are releasing people for not living up their salary, chambers, shelton, and culpepper better watch their backs too.

I am very confused as well. Maybe it is just a scare tactic so NO gives up a 3. I don't get the point of releasing him instead of getting a 4th.

Me too. New Orleans has like 3 or 4 4th rounders. We should make them cough up one.
