...no he's not. By no means do I feel he's an elite linebacker, but to say he's a bum is stupid.

Greenway has 94 tackles (72 solo), 3 FF, and 4 sacks. But he's a bum...

Brooks has the name recognition over Greenway. It's fan voting, Brooks will get in, despite greenway nearly doubling him in tackles and having 4 sacks to brooks 0.

Oh and by the way, I was very happy tonight with the play of Julius Peppers. He has swayed me into thinking that he and Mario are far and away the best DE's in the league. Very happy with Pep's play tonight. He reminded me of the pre-2007 Peppers and it was truely awesome. I just wish he was 26 and nmot 28, but thats okay he looked great and I have now be turned back into a full fledged Pep fan again.

You guys just might get a Peppers essay in a day or two...lol

I don't think you understand how the Pro Bowl works. Deserving it has nothing to do with it.

Did you see Pep play on monday night. He kept Garcia from scrambling for a TD, he got 1.5 sacks both times on 3rd down keeping TB out of field goal range and blocked an extra point.

There's not a defensive end in the NFL who at this point in time does the things Peppers does.

Did those same DE's have 1.5 sacks and have their coverage cause a 3 and out in the red zone? I'm not saying other DE's can't block field goals. I'm saying no other DE in the NFL right now, can do or does the things Peppers can and does. Mario Williams one day I'm sure will be just as good. However, right now. He's no where near as good dropping back in coverage and his backside pursuit needs some work. That said, Peppers wasn't as adept in coverage or in those areas until his third year either.

It takes time. I realise that. Picking one part of my post to argue against doesn't make the crux of it magically untrue.

Peppers can't play the run like tuck or be an impact pass rusher from the inside like tuck, and plenty of DEs drop off in coverage, even old man strahan was doing it last season and having success.

So your argument for why Tuck is a better defensive end is that Peppers isn't a defensive tackle?

I'm sorry, I guess my sarcasm didn't translate through the internet.

Justin Tuck is a great defensive player. I would never try and make an argument to the contrary. But between 2004-2006, I honestly probably would have supported Peppers as being the best defensive player in the NFL. This guy was an absolute monster at defensive end and he did almost all of it from the left end spot. I mean, come on. In just under 7 seasons, Peppers has 68.5 sacks, 25 forced fumbles, 35 passes defended, 4 interceptions (as well as at least two blocked field goals that I know about). Those are ridiculous numbers. And despite a down year last season, he's been excellent this year. In fact, I don't really see much of an argument that Tuck has been a better player this year. He certainly has more people to occupy blockers than Peppers does.

I like Justin Tuck. But I don't think we'll ever see him take over half the field like we've seen Peppers do at times.

he's not even in his third year starting yet, imagine how good he'll be in coverage when the light comes on.

Ur absolutely saying that in just the following sentence. Mario Williams ONE DAY, will be just as good. U gotta be kidding me right? I mean yes, Peppers has been a force this year, but seriously u think he is the best DE in the game? Both players are less than 2 sacks away from Peppers and nobody played ******* Kwame who i believe likes to let his QB be sacked more than actually blocking. Again I am not saying Peppers is not a great DE, but u really believe Julius Peppers is the only one to have 1.5 sacks per game and caused a 3 and out because he dropped back in coverage? It wasnt even him who cause the 3 and out. The WHOLE defense did that. There is no way Julius Peppers is the best defensive end in the game, maybe Top5-10.

2004-2006? yes definitely. But not now

I wish you knew what you were talking about. Kiwi is about 20 pounds under weight to be playing DE as he was slimming down immensely for LB. Other than him he's got Dave Tollefson as his best rotational end. Inside we have Fred Robbens who's been a journeyman, barry cofield who was a great value for a late rounder but is just a mediocre starter and sometimes he gets jay alford who still isn't very effective. Last year tuck's job was made a lot easier, but this year he's carrying our dline pretty much on his own, our pass rush has only dropped from dominant to still pretty good after losing osi and strahan for this season because tuck has stepped up and our secondary has become a strength.

Add to that that steve spagnulo has been a lot more conservative this season and hasn't been dialing up the blitzes yet and tuck gets a lot less help than everyone thinks. Peppers may very well get more help so don't use that point.

Now if you're going to argue that peppers ability to drop in coverage twice or three times a game as a reason he's better than tuck I'll tell you that tuck's ability to provide an inside pass rush is much more valuable to his d than pepper's coverage is for him.

We're talking about elite players and you haven't proven at all that peppers is clearly better. Tuck is certainly on par with peppers this season.

It's true...it's true.

I think it's gotten to the point that everyone thinks Blindsite is such a homer that even when he's right he gets ridiculed.
