I would have prefered a CB. But Dickson gives us a nice recieving option from the TE spot. A nice security blanket for Flacco.

I like having an athletic TE. We use a lot of overload sets instead of utilizing a blocking TE. We need someone who can stretch the field down the seam and Dickson can do that.

we know how Cameron can use a TE. Dickson has great hands and can be a option to pass anywhere on the field. Also DIckson isnt totally worthless as a blocker.

I love Ed Dickson, great receiving option and he's no slouch in the blocking game, he'll give you his best effort.

I like this pick. He was one of the guys that visited the Ravens (along with Jimmy Graham) and he might be what we were expecting out of Smith last season. Probably better, as he has pretty good hands. I wouldn't be surprised to see us go after a blocking TE with one of our 5ths as well.

Ozzie Newsome is making the same mistake Jerry Reese made last year. We have no depth behind Webb, Fabian and Foxworth. Carr is serviceable, but definitely upgradeable.

We have yet to add a corner and I think late in the season, it will come back to bite us in the ass.
If Brandon Ghee is still available, I think we should at least attempt to trade up.

IDK About late in the season because Webb and Washington will be 100% by then. It will probably hurt earlier in the season. Webb and Washington will be peaking at the end of the season and will still be fresh, maybe them being hurt is a blessing in disguise.

I was pondering this earlier in the day and I'm not so sure. I mean Fabian will be ready for the season because its his contract year, but Webb is the future and we don't need to rush him. Obviously his injury doesn't take a full year like it did in years past but still for all he does we should give him all the time possible. Drafting corner depth needs to be a priority tomorrow.

yeah I agree we gotta look at CBs regardless, lucky for us the CB depth is ridiculously good for us. I am loving this draft.

true, they will be at full health and probably back into rhyme, but if someone was to go down, we could be screwed with the lack of depth.

Despite drafting a CB, I still LOVE this draft.

Definitely don't think we see Kindle on the line in any scheme we use, he's behind JJ on the depth chart according to the Ravens' website tweet.

In a 43 I would love JJ to play DE, have Kindle be the SLB.

wouldn't Kindle be a defensive end in the 4-3 defense?

However, I think with drafting Cody and Kindle, it shows that we will still use more of a 3-4 than a 4-3. Expect to see both, just more of the 3-4.

I feel like our pass rush was pathetic last year, adding Cody will take up blockers with him and Ngata, hopefully freeing up Kruger, Redding and Pryce on the d-line and giving Suggs(who I expect a huge year from), Jarrett Johnson, and Sergio Kindle, an easy 1 on 1 matchup to get to the QB.

With the improvement of our pass rush, I think it will make our secondary look a lot better.

Not according to Scott, and I tend to agree with him. Especially for our defense, Kindle doesn't have the size to play DE.

Yeah, I like Kindle as an OLB in a 3-4 too. We don't really have guys who can play OLB in the 4-3. T-Good can play it but Ellerbe is better on the inside and JJ isn't athletic enough.

And I don't know about you guys, but I'm really pleased with the draft so far.

I'm slowly coming around to it. Cody is a guy that will be good at what he does as long as we keep his weight under control, Dickson is a nice receiving TE that can block down-field, and Kindle will be pretty good for us assuming his knee is good (which Ozzie and the Ravens have stated that he won't need surgery this season or anytime soon).

I love Kindle but his knee issue will keep me up at night. But its a steal, lets be real here, w/o that knee issue Kindle is a top 15 pick.

Ive been saying this entire process Kindle has the ability to play ILB in a 3-4 as well. Me and Toon had a huge discussion and agree that he could play any of the 4 LB spots in a 3-4 and the SAM or WILL spot in a 4-3 if asked to, similar to Orakpo this year.
He definately could, has the frame and athleticism to do it, granted I think OLB in a 3-4 is his best fit because he's at his best on the edge getting after the Qb but he very well could do it. You would just have to realize it would be a slower process putting him in the inside, all Kindle needed was some good coaching to be a monster at the next level and he's got that now, you've got a steal.

I didn't think he would miss any time his rookie year, just sounds like there is some doubt over how long his career would be but if you guys get 6 years out of him it's well worth it.

I like the start so far, makes trading back look alot better being that you got a top 20 talent and someone who in alot of mocks wasn't even available with your 1st round pick. He's a perfect Baltimore Raven in every way, and I think him and Cody were a good start to the draft.

Man, Cody could be a very important dude for you guys. Him and Ngata could be downright nasty to deal with.

Thank goodness we got Pouncey, lol.

But dealing with Cody and Ngata will give many, many guys headaches.

Very good draft for you guys, even if APS is still ticked you passed on both Odrick and Wilson :)

I agree with Goose. Especially given the fact that you guys dropped out of rd 1 - this was a very difficult draft to watch.

I know of 6 men who are far more upset about your success so far than I am though.......5 o-linemen and 1 rb to be exact.

I'm not a Ravens fan, but I audibly said "oh ****" when the Ravens drafted Cody. An d-line consisting of Cody/Ngata/Pryce or Redding scares the daylights out of me. Trading for Boldin and then drafting Kindle and Cody...... I like your chances to win the AFC North this year.

The scary thing with Cody is he'll need to be part of a rotation on the dline. The scarier part is we got some depth on that line that it might just work out better then we anticipate. If we get talent today that can actually contribute this year, its going to hard not to be excited for both the NFL seasons.

So new rule, NBA: Unless you have a root canal at halftime, SHUT UP AND PLAY!
