If we're just talking guys that actually play DE in the NFL, then no, not really. Charles Johnson and Jacob Ford lead with 6 sacks, followed by Gaines Adams with 5.5.
If you counted guys that played DE in college though, then Woodley has been in beast mode with 11.5

They're all very promising.
Jacob Ford was a late-round pick out of Central Arkansas, and was a project of a pass-rusher. He's 6'4, 250 or so, and has excellent athleticism and quickness. Unfortunately, he sustained an ACL injury before last season and didn't see the field once his rookie season. This year, he's healthy and is doing awesome. He's had a sack in each of his past 3 games.
Jason Jones and William Hayes are rookies this season. Jones was switched to DT and has thrived. He's 10th among rookies in sacks with 1.5, and is 3rd among rookie DT's - all despite missing 3 games due to injury. Hayes is at the bottom of the DE rotation, but that isn't a knock against him. He's a rookie with potential, but we'll have to wait and see if he improves in his second season like Ford did.

I remember last year the Steelers were looking at him and I was just hoping they'd take him over Bruce Davis/Cliff Avril..
To No avail. Davis hasn't even been active more than 4-6 games this season and he's weak as hell.
Now after week 2 of the NCAA I notice Connor Barwin, but he has to eff that up by having a great season now he seems too unnattainable around week6 so I turn back to Larry English, now he's being pegged a lot of places to go higher than Barwin.. Sheesh.

I thought Bruce Davis was gonna be a stud. He was a beast at Ucla.

Cliff Avril is VERY fast. If he can put on 15 pounds and still play close to as fast as he plays now, he might be something. He needs to work on his hand moves though.

Cliff Avril in a 3-4 defense is good for 12 sacks a season. Too bad he will waste away in Detroit like all their other players who show potential.

Gholston isn't doing much this season but give him time. Takes a lot of players time to learn a new position. He'll be fine.

He was great because of his speed and motor. He gained 19lbs to get over 250+lbs at the combine and his speed suffered.
Then he got to TC and he couldn't beat any of the RB's, TE's and such in TC because he has a severe lack of functional strength.
I'm not calling him a bust yet, but it scares me when a 3rd round 3-4 OLB isn't even active for the season for Special teams... and when he was, he was severely outplayed by others.
