There is absolutely no way we can draft Awesomeness in Round 4. As much as we could use it for depth and special teams.. Unless we trade down and acquire more picks, I doubt we'll have a chance for Awesomeness there.

I say we ask Millen to consult with us and we just draft the opposite of what he tells us to do.

001) Michael Oher LT
020) Gerald McCoy DT
033) Greg Hardy DE
065) Rashad Jennings RB
084) Brian Robiske WR
5th)
6th)
6th)
I haven't gone past the third yet. I will soon. If we can sign two free agents
and we get the two I think we can fit here to sign the we will have filled a bunch of holes this off-season.

You do know that Mayock says Oher is the #4 OT prospect on his board. That Smith, Monroe and Jason Smith are all rated higher than Oher by quit some margin. Oher has been pretty inconsistent this past season and there is no way he is worth the #1 overall pick.
McCoy would be a great pick but he hasn't declared as of yet so we don't know if he will be available.
Hardy is a nice pick in round 2 but might not be best suited to play in a Cover 2 defense although he might be worth the risk.
Jennings and Robiskie don't seem to be priorities in this draft, we have too many holes to file to be drafting backups with our early picks.
FA's will be a tough road for Detroit this coming season. Not too many players who are interested in winning will pick Detroit over the other 31 franchises unless they only want the money and winning is completely secondary. Do we really want that type of FA. We need to rebuild our credibility before we will be an attractive place to sign with.
When you play for an 0-16 team, you have very little trade bait especially if you are being overpaid by a generous GM like Millen. I doubt any of these player have much trade value.

We don't have a 7th rounder. It was traded to Dallas in the Roy Williams trade.
Though we might get a compensatory pick after losing Damien Woody last offseason.

For all you drafting left tackle with first pick
There is no cook book formula in drafting. I respect all of your mock draft but
the New York Giants won a Superbowl without one offensive linemen drafted in the first round. Diehl was a 5th round pick in 2003. O'hara was undrafted in 2003. Eli Manning was the first pick in the first round in 2004 from Ole Miss. This is from Jan 12th ESPN Magazine.
Dec 29th ESPN magazine also said, "From 2004-07, the Falcons offensive line allowed 183 sacks, fifth the NFL. Through 19 games in 2008, Ryan has been dropped 13 times. The fifth best." To have a very mobile Michael Vick being sacked so many times says how bad their offensive line is. I don't remember when free agent lineman the Falcons added. Sam Baker started with first 5 out of 6 games and isn't started since. So the argument is that Ryan made the offensive line better by having the god given ability to make the passes and getting rid of the passes quicker helps out his offensive line.
Remember, we need to fix our two guard position. While it may be nice to replace Backus, he is still under a big salary contract and has played half way decent this year. I say we be patient with Backus and replace him latter or trade him if possible. I can see us drafting a guard like Canfield and Vasquez to replace Damian Cook or Stephen Peterman.

Agreed. The Lions used their top pick last year on an OT, so let's continue to spread it around.
Besides, drafting OT's Aaron Gibson, Stockar McDougle, and Jeff Backus three consecutive years from '99 to '01 didn't do much to help our Quarterback play.
