I looked for a DT and ILB, but there's really no one at your pick, which is why I have you guys trade down. Peria jerry's still there but there's no point in drafting him with Redding already on the roster. And at pick 12 of the second round Knowshon was just too good for me to pass up. As I mentioned on day two you guys would start filling out the D, you could still get a starter in round two, maybe a big local boy like terrance Taylor, a corner like Sherrod Martin or Kevin Barnes or a LB like Marcus Freeman, Beckwith or Ellerbe. See who falls to the top of the fourth and from their start grabbing role players.

I would like to come away from this draft with one young OG and one young OT, I just don't want either of them drafted in round 1.

O-Line is the one spot on the team that is totally devoid of young potential and talent regardless of how realistic it is those players ever pan out.

The D-Line is bad, but at least there is "hope" that Cohen, Fluellen, IAF, and Avril will pan out and at least be productive rotational guys.

For mid round O-Lineman, I like Tony Kropog and William Beatty. Get one of them in Round 3, and take a chance on an OG in rounds 4-6 if the situation presents.

id be willing to give up our second third to package with 33 to move up into late first to ensure that we get both Raji and Spikes IMO

Obviously Stafford and Rahi are targets of mine as well, so I'd be ecstatic.

I'd say skip drafting a Tight End, however, and get a young WR/CB who can also return kicks. For me, Tight End is just a luxury pick, and the Lions are in no position to be taking those guys.

I like the Brinkley pick too. He was highly regarded before that injury. Maybe he can recover his value with us. Worth a shot.
Yeah Rahi and Stafford would make me happy right now. So many good DTs changed teams last year it was ridiculous. If Millen/Marinelli were smart they would have traded Rogers for Kris Jenkins or Stroud if they thought Rogers was that unmotivated. But of course, Marinelli likes undersized Darby so we give up 171 yards per game. And actually Shaun Rogers had his best year as a Lion in 2007. I know hindsight is 20/20 and Rogers was totally unmotivated, but DTs like that just don't fall off trees. I think Rahi is one of those DTs. I even fell into it (because the 3rd year is your highest expectations for a Lions coach) but I was way wrong just like Marinelli.

I want a tight end because Backus needs help blocking. A good blocking tight end will go a long way if Backus is still our LT next year. We can't rely on Campbell because of injury and I didn't like what I saw out of Gaines. 5th or 6th round doesn't really matter for tight end. I'd wait until the 6th if there was a good returner on the board (not Kenneth Moore or whoever we took last year).

Gaines and Owens are actually pretty decent blocking TE's and we'd still have Campbell.

I just don't think its a need we can afford to address if that makes any sense haha

Gaines and Owens both struggled mightily in blocking this year so they are absolutely beyond incredibly useless. We have a lot of needs but this team REALLY needs a tight end.

OK, I digress . . . Gaines was billed as a good blocking TE upon his arrival. No one excelled in our 0-16 season at anything, haha.

I see through your thinly veiled suggestions of sarcasm. You're enamored by Sanchez and it's probably only a matter of time till you're twirling a baton in a parade through San Francisco.
