Hiring a coach without a GM is very strange IMO.

Interesting how is this situation any different than the one they just got out of.

Mangenious is now in Cleveland?
I knew a Bellicheck underling would take over, but I thought it would be McDaniels not Mangini...

I don't think he is a bad pick up but I do agree the way they went about it is strange.

I think McDaniels is heading for Denver.

That is interesting McDaniels, could really be great for Cutler and that high powered offense.

What went down is that Randy Lerner wanted to have a GM and HC who were on the same page, so he interviewed Mangini and loved him, then Mangini raved about George Kokinis who he worked with before, and it's likely that Kokinis is gonna get the GM job. I think Denver might do the same thing.

Very good signing by them, and a great fit for him in turn.

Honestly, I thought Mangini would be out of the NFL, as some other posters said he really ruined his reputation around the league so this surprises me a bit. Not a bad coach though, just a rat, I don't think he is a great coach either though, should fit the Browns well seeing as they already got a 3-4 in place, which was set up by another Patriots coordinator Romeo Crennel so he won't need long to adjust in Cleveland.

At least we got someone with some coaching experience... I think Favre led to the undoing of the Jets late in the year more than Mangini did but I'm not a Jets fan so idk.

I can't understand why some people feel Mangini did a bad job in New York. He was a Head Coach for three years there, finished with a 23-26 record and seasons above .500. Also, he is a defensive minded coach and the D didn't let them down this year.

Why? Just because they both run a 3-4?
I think Mangini got a raw deal in NY, and we have no idea if he was in favor of the Favre trade.

In the video Adam Schefter talks about trading Braylon Edwards & Kellen Winslow
I was wondering what do you guys think there trade value is?
Do you think one or both of them could be traded during the offseason?

I'm not going to get into it, but i'll let you believe wha tyou want. That issue has been discussed about as far as it can go...if you missed it, so be it.

because they both basically come from the same stream (NE defense). They both have the same body structure. They both just got fired. They both have the same 'passive' demenor.
Whether he was in favor of the Favre trade doesn't really matter, it was what it was, and his play calling (or lack of influence on changing what the OC was doing) was a large part of the downfall. There are many coaches who don't get a say in personell, so that is not an excuse that will fly...

I think the Jets may have had some of the worst play calling of all time down the stretch. So I don't believe Favre is fully to blame. Favre played very poorly but the play calling never gave him a chance.

I wonder if this gives them more of a chance to draft Malcolm Jenkins but I am still waiting on their GM pick

Yeah they would have an excellent young core on offense if they selected Beanie Wells
