you should have moved them. then you should have taken out one of the genre signs, written "****" on it, and then stick it behind the Nickelback CDs.
And I ain't no fan of Slipknot, but that news sucks. RIP.

Nickelback's first album was heavy metal... however that does not warrant them still being categorized as such considering the decade of dominance they have had being pop rocks douchiest band.

I'd listen to it to settle the debate, but I don't give a **** about Nickelback, so no thanks.

I hate Nickelback but was very intrigued by this idea that their first album was heavy metal. I had to look up the name (it's called "Curb"), but I found it on Amazon and listened to the previews of each song. While it is definitely not in any way heavy metal, it does not suck like everything I've heard from them. It has a very grungy feel. You can hear influences from Alice in Chains, Nirvana, STP, and Pearl Jam.

I hate you for attempting to make that statement. Nickelback is easily my most hated band. A bunch of no talent guys playing your typical boy band rock gets big off of a bunch of the same people tuning into the Jonas brothers or Hannah Montana. None of their stuff is anything close to metal, and the fact they were nominated for a metal song with their **** single burn it down, has made me lose all hope in humanity. Can it be a rule in this thread that no mention of Nickelback shall or ever be made as this is not the three power chord dying giraffe singer thread. / end rant.

I'd check out Pelican and Agalloch. Neither bands are extraordinarily heavy but have awesome vibes. Also check out Opeth - Damnation.

haha everyone went through the Limp Bizkit faze and creed never got the popularity I see Nickelback getting. But yes both of those bands suck as well.
Also, while not acoustic but an awesome instrumental band is scale the summit. Saw them live with BTBAM earlier this year, and was very impressed.

I wasn't very impressed with Scale the Summit to be honest. I found them a bit repetitive, and instrumental bands need to be interesting to me for me to like them.
If you wanna keep in the metal family for acoustic, check out Blood and Time, which is the side project of Scott Kelly of Neurosis.
