So i took a new girl out to dinner yesterday. Seemed like it was gonna be a tad rough as we waited for our table, but we really hit it off while we had dinner, had great conversation and lots of laughs. I had a backup plan if it wasn't good so i could bail right after dinner, but it didn't so i asked her if she wanted to do something else. She declined saying she had to go pick something up and she had made plans with her best friend to go see a movie. Was a little disappointed, no kiss goodnight either, but she did text me about an hour after we left saying thank you and that she had a great time. I said i had a great time as well and that i'd like to do it again soon. She said definitely and that she would be willing to cook dinner for us.

Am i in the clear?

That's what i'm hoping. She mentioned a few times during dinner how she was telling her friends she was going out with me (her friends also know me), so i'm hoping that's what she did after seeing me. She even posted on my fb wall late at night cause she knew i was out with some buddies.

Crossing my fingers for this one.

Just remember, the first 3 months are always great. Once you get past that honey moon period, that's when you really know what you have or don't have with a girl.

And jesus, never have kids if you think making them happy is at all involved in your decision making process. Your goal as a parent is to A) keep the brat alive until they move out; B) keep them from doing anything too stupid; C) setting them up as best you can to be a functioning adult. I'm not sure you have a reason to be too suspicious. If her attitude changed suddenly during the game, it's not like she secretly met up DURING the game with him, right? It's more likely she was just genuinely happy and realized she couldn't really backtrack from being all giddy to being "I HATE YOU, YOU RUINED MY LIFE" without being a complete brat. If you threatened the dude and he broke it off asap and she knows you can see her phone stuff, it's either over or they're both really ballsy and stupid.

But he's not the one who had the kid. Big difference there. He's a stranger that is marrying the child's mother. I'm just saying why isn't the mom taking charge first and foremost. It would probably better instead of a stranger, trying to get on the child's good side, stepped in and said "hey wait a minute you're my child now and..."

Trust me, my two older cousins (who have turned out well) have had a step-father for years and their relationship between him is awful. Dude just came in and started taking charge when they were teenagers. But then again he's an asshole in general so whatever.

Well, we've been together for nearly 3 years. I'm not just coming in. Also, mom and real dad tried saying something but they took the wrong route. Tried the nice approach and just asked for him to leave her alone. They continued seeing each other. I've had a while to figure out my boundaries and establish a relationship with the child. So we had a great relationship before the fight. As more and more time passes after the fight, I think we have a better one now.

Plus, I wasn't really concerned if it made our relationship rocky for a while. Their relationship had to end.
