Fox 8 in New Orleans is reporting that LB Jonathan Vilma has been arrested in Miami Friday night and booked with reckless driving and resisting arrest.

Vilma was reportedly weaving in traffic, ran a red light, nearly hit two pedestrians and was uncooperative after being pulled over. With Vilma set to hit free agency next month, this will hurt his chances for a hefty contract.

We've got a hectic schedule. This is the only time us and the rest of the guys in the pool can get together and finish the draft before the season. Its a good thing the Pats didn't make the playoffs or Tom Brady wouldn't have been able to come. Thank god he blew that knee out :P

Now that he is cheaper the Giants should sign him, Pierce has played like crap this season and is only getting older and slower, I think Vilma would fit in pretty well in the Giants 4-3.

"They won't be giving up that first round pick to resign him ANYMORE" = they were going to before this happened. Maybe it's not what you meant, but it's what you said.


They were going to re-sign him (and hopefully still do), but they won't have to give up a first round pick because they'll wait until FA starts.
