The 04 draft just makes me sad that Marcus Tubbs couldnt stay healthy. Actually its just pretty sad all around for the Hawks

1 23 Marcus Tubbs - Looked like a future pro-bowler, then the chronic knee injuries set in. Retired.
2 53 Michael Boulware - Looked like a future pro-bowler, and then he started sucking....where is he now?
3 84 Sean Locklear - Looked like a possible future pro-bowler, now he's just an average RT.
4 116 Niko Koutouvides - Is he still with Denver? Was a decent backup.
5 157 D.J. Hackett - Man I thought he was gona be great, couldnt stay healthy, left for Carolina, now he sucks.
6 189 Craig Terrill - Good backup.
7 224 Donnie Jones - And the Seahawks draft another punter, cut him, and he goes off to be good for someone else.

As a Giants fan, I can't complain with this draft. Some of these guys have already left the team, but played well while here. Derrick Ward was even in this draft who we picked off the Jets practice squad.

We had a pretty sweet draft that year.

Eli in the 1st (money)
Snee in the 2nd (money)
Torbor in the 4th (epic fail)
Gibril Wilson in the 5th (money while we had him)
Jamaar Taylor in the 6thth (fail. couldn't stay healthy)
Some guy in the 7th (who cares)

So we got 3 players out of that draft. I'll take that.

I give passes to guys like Tubbs & Jones...both were poised to kick ass for years but had injuries...and Clayton was a beast his rookie year and seems to be re-gaining some of his form

Mandatory Rashaun Woods NFL.com scouting report, which I can no longer find live-linked. But here's the text (yeah, I saved it):

Quote:
Positives: Has a well-defined body with solid lower body and calf development and room in his upper body to add additional bulk … Has good quickness in and out of his breaks, showing sudden movements to get open and gain yardage after the catch … Gets off the line of scrimmage and into his routes immediately … Runs outstanding pass routes, showing crispness and explosive stop-and-go agility … Reads coverages well, making proper adjustments on the run … Can turn a short catch into a big play with his speed … Has strong hands and the ability to catch away from the body's frame … Remains focused and has great toughness catching in a crowd (will take the hit and hold on) … His speed and hip swerve allows him to elude defenders after the catch … Has excellent leg drive and strength to break arm tackles and drag defenders for extra yardage … Willing blocker who will not back down from a fight, getting good position and hand placement on the defender … Role model-type who can handle pressure … Has the separation speed to defeat most defensive backs in the deep zone … Relishes his role as the go-to receiver and has proven to be the difference-maker with the game on the line.

Negatives: Few, if any flaws in his game, but could do a better job of tracking the ball in over his shoulder on deep routes (has misjudged these passes on more than one occasion).

Your arguement doesn't really have anything substantial. I believe we may have a 2 time superbowl winner here, and odds are 2 HoF potentials also. You make a very weak case. Also, you simply address 2 players, not the entire draft. If a draft has the 2 greatest players in league history, but nothing else, is it still better than the next draft that doesn't have either of those 2 best players, but a very large number of good/real good players? Not saying this is the case, but what you are saying doesn't really provide anything substantial

I think he is talking about Mark Clayton who is on the Ravens.

No, he is not, because Michael Clayton was in the 04' draft Mark Clayton was not.
