He was probably overweight due to smoking the green. That stuff tends to make one want to eat junk food and skip workouts.

Only when you get the munchies and are high. It doesn't really affect you otherwise.

The other two combined for five probowls.
And I think Vick would have made like 6+ in his career had that incident not happened.
Petrino was an asshole, but he made our passing game decent with Joey Harrington and Byron Leftwich at quarterback, and set up Chris Redman for success.
I think Vick would have flourished. He was so fun to watch.
Good thing Matt Ryan is a star.

You are right. With this whole Vick-SF thing coming up, it really brought me back. He was finally going to be in an offense right for him, and he was putting in the effort. Not to mention, as much as people want to blame Roddy sucking on Vick, how many articles have we seen about how it was Roddy getting in football shape, learning to focus and work?

IDK. 20??
I hope he progresses a lot this season. He should. All of his receivers last season were freshman (literally), as well as his runninback. His offensive line was also bad.
These next two years all the tools will be around him.

I agree. I think Roddy does better with a QB who throws a more catchable ball (velocity wise), but he dropped so many easy passes his first two seasons it could not have all been on Vick. And Vick always said after games he would just keep throwing it to him.
Roddy fixed his problems himself. It was not Vick leaving. Not entirely anyway.
I'm very, very excited to have Matt Ryan at the helm for the next decade or more. But what Vick could have done under Petrino will always be something I wonder about.
Even if he was under Mularkey, whose offense features a lot of deep patterns and trick player, I think he would have excelled.
Knapp and his system were horrible for Vick.

This. Pretty much in full agreeance with what you said here.

Poor attitude, lack of determination, terrible work ethic. Those traits never help a player translate in the NFL, so I don't know why any team would even want him at this point.

I'm sure he'll have a ton of tools around him, Virginia Tech is never short on those.

Is that a pathetic shot at the VT killings?

I think that part of his problem was that the expectations for him were so high in the draft, that he just didn't live up to them. That's pretty much the bottom line. I thought that him and DeAngelo Hall were going to be great and he just never broke into the starting role. He wasn't motivated enough. Good luck with him.
