Default Leroy Hill Got Caught with Pot

I actually found this story on Saturday when it happened, but I didn't post anything about it. Here are the details.

Leroy Hill was found asleep behind the wheel of his car at a major intersection in suburban Atlanta county @ 4 in the morning.

Officers found less than an ounce of marijuana in the vehicle and the court date hasn't been set yet.

Hill was released after putting up a $1,500 bond.

This was really bad timing. I already had doubts that the Seahawks would bring him back, but now I really don't think they bring him back. If he had managed to sign a big contract with them before this incident, then yes they probably would have moved on. This stunt is going to cost Leroy Hill millions of dollars no matter who he signs his next contract with.

I still would like the Hawks to bring him back, but I doubt Ruskell does that. Likely pointing to the fact that he couldn't keep himself out of trouble during this time when the Seahawks actually had the chance to sign him.

Does Aaron Curry get more attractive to you guys right now? Or do we look for someone like Clint Sintim, Brian Cushing, or Clay Matthews to fall to them in the second?

I don't really think it is going to matter. Hill has produced on the field for us and has never been a problem. He gets one silly misdemeanor (a stupid one at that) and I dont think it will matter when it comes down to it. I actually think this will help Seattle because it allows Ruskell some leverage and he will now sign for less $.

That's what I am hoping, but I had doubts they were going to bring him back anyway. I didn't think that Ruskell would want to put up the type of money that Leroy would make on the open market. That may still be the case.

Also, I have a feeling that Leroy wants to get out of the shadow of Lofa and Peterson. He's the most complete LB on our roster. He will probably not make the Pro Bowl until he leaves Seattle. He was the single best player on our defense this year.

If he does leave, the only player that could possibly step in and replace him right away (from the draft) is Aaron Curry.

If we let go of Hill, I would still be willing to bet large amounts of money that we would not draft Curry.

LB is probably the easiest position to pick someone up and plug him in and have success. There is no LB that would be worth #4 overall to us, just because of the defense we run. If we ran a 3-4, I could understand it.

I doubt that happens with today's Free Agency. If a player feels like he is getting less then what he is valued then he can just leave and let others bid on him. I think Hill can get a lot of different teams to bid for his services.

Just found some more stuff on his arrest.

Apparently there were two bags of marijuana (they contained a onuce all together) in a bookbag on the passenger seat of his car...

A 1975 Buick Electra.

Anybody else find that funny (the car, not the marijuana)?

I actually find the whole thing pretty funny. I really hope Ruskell uses this to his advantage and gets him signed for cheaper now instead of letting him walk just because he had some pot. Something tells me he'll end up doing the latter.

You wish. Fact is, something like this will definitely drive his price down. He still will most likely be a Hawk.

Leroy Hill actually released an apology through the Seahawks, so that could be good news. Ruskell said something about when things like this happen to your family it's like a punch in the gut or something like that.

Hopefully, Ruskell manages to get him resigned within the week (perhaps a bit unrealistic, but I can hope).

I think that is the route to go. In the case of Sintim and Matthews i dont think they are falling, Sintim should go in that area and it would probably be little early for Matthews but good value i think.

I hope we resign him. Either that or get Sintim.
