Default Brady will be good to go

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...e-ready-for-09

Now the question is will they trade Cassel in the begining of next season after just putting the franchise tag on him? I doubt they keep him thats just way to much money to be paying for 2 QBs.

It's not the physical aspect of the game that I'd be worried about, but the mental aspect. These types of injuries you won't be able to grasp the ramifications until the season begins. Will he be timid stepping up into the pocket? Will he be scared of taking a hit, which forces him to get rid of the ball to quick etc.

He could very well have 0 problems with his surgery, but we'll never know until the season begins. These reports do nothing but provide fans with speculative information.

When I see him zipping passes to Welker and Moss, I will believe he is ok. Brady is a warrior and should bounce back, but Pollard messed his **** up pretty badly. It was a nasty looking hit. Lets see how he bounces back, I agree.

As far as Cassell goes, the Pats are masters of the draft day trade. I fully expect them to move Cassell, and not risk having his stock go down. Buy low, sell high, thats the oldest trick in the book. They drafted O'Connell and he is the future there anyways, why not move Cassell? Especially if someone like Minny is willing to part with a 1st for him.

Yea but if Brady seems good in pre-season I wonder if they will look to shop him around.

He's been dropping back and taking hits for more years than not, I doubt it'll turn him soft, it rarely does.

Brady is an extremely level headed QB that performs really well under pressure. He's one of the last QBs I'd expect to get affected by this.

I agree. There is something to be said about gaining the confidence and getting over the mental hurdle of using his knee, but QB's don't run and cut like other positions(usually).

I don't question his history of taking hard hits or beatings, but how this injury will affect him mentally. He has never sustained an injury of this magnitude and i will have to disagree that it can cause one to be more hesitant and not trust his knee. I'm not saying it will happen to Brady, because it doesn't to everyone, but I distinctly remember Palmer and McNabb not trusting their knee even though it was 100% healthy.

Their knees are perfectly fine after rehabbing, but it's the trust factor that they need to get back.

I would be very surprised if Brady didn't struggle to begin the season, which will probably wear off after a few games. Granted there is no way of qualitatively analyzing whether it's not playing for a year or the knee that causes his rust, but I believe their will be.
